Yes. Separated by a barrier from GA.

Finn was so awesome, playing ALL the instruments! Fabulous artist reunited with his singer on stage after 10 years!

I LOVED seeing a female rocking the guitar on stage with the Pixies! I ran into her on the pier and got to say thank you. I told her my take on their song was - she sings, he says stop, then her singing haunts him.

It sounded like one song was about an incestuous event resulting in pure offspring? I was about to throw my hands in the air but then was like - What.

I wasn't fond of "if devil is 6, god is seven" - because I don't buy that creation story. But good rocking out. Not into the outta time themes either if all my relations...

Thank for getting me here into my dancing shoes, PJ! You guys are killing it! Josh adds so much to the show - so get outta my fuckin thread OP!

is Josh with them on this leg of the tour?
He got a mention about half way through. Had no idea he was there until that point. And obvious reasons why he’s hiding. Last few songs he came out to his usual spot. Honestly, I’m disgusted that the band are ok with sharing the stage with him. He shouldn’t be touring with them.

Absolutely amazing gig.. Last and first time I saw the was 2009. I sang my heart out probably got all the words wrong but had an absolute ball. Was in GIC but it started getting jammed near the end and had to exit. Crowd was mostly well behaved but the 4 drink trays and the constant people.pushing to get through with their drinks was annoying. Heaps of plastic cups everywhere. Kind wish it was a no alcohol zone. Don't get me wrong I love a few beersies just think it would be better behaved and tidier. Got back to the hotel about 1:30am and Eddie turned up and went in via the VIP entrance. Just missed him again this morning heading out in the VIP van. Damn. Tempted to ask the concierge if he can take my poster to him to sign. 50yo male groupie just doesn't seem right 😂. Melbourne next week.. Looking forward to that one.

which hotel are they staying in? I wanted to sign my poster as well and happy to speak to the concierge on your behalf =)

Emma has also been in a band called Band of Skulls, who are well worth a listen.

Also Monkey Gone to Heaven is more about man's place in the world and how we are ruining the environment than anything particularly religious.

To quote an interview Black did with the Guardian a couple of years back:

I guess it’s loosely inspired by the so-called human dilemma of existence, our existential problem on whether we can survive as a race. But it’s told without any agenda or judgment and mixes in some very loose biblical, sing-songy things because, you know, “The devil is six and God is seven” rhymes with heaven. It’s a nursery rhyme with mythological folk imagery. In oversimplified evolutionary terms, we are descended from apes and monkeys, so they are the animal we metaphorically most relate to because of this evolutionary kinship. So that’s why it’s not a bird or a fish gone to heaven.
