You can actually tie Stephen Miller to white nationalist thought which makes him one of the most pernicious members of Trump's inner circle. This is a lesson in crying wolf. When you're running around calling everyone to the right of AOC a racist or Nazi, it obscures the actual wolves.

Stephen Miller is a racist xenophobic piece of shit.
So is anyone and everyone who supports this returning regime.

Annnnnndddd THAT is why we lost. I know a lot of people who voted for Trump, none of them are racist/xenophobic/misogynistic.  And I know a lot of people who voted Harris. None of us were very excited about it.  Dems had best get past the everybody who doesn't vote for us is sexist/racist, etc. That shows the lack of intellect and awareness that Dems and their base have. And people got sick of the accusation. Enjoy continuing to lose elections if that is the only message you have.  It worked for decades.  It's over now.
We lost because those people are ignorant. It certainly wasn't by calling Stephen Miller a racist.
    True
But I am of the belief, and many agree with me, that if you support a racist xenophobe in any way including voting that means you support racism and xenophobia too.

We can round and round  on this forever. But ignoring the fact that the returning regime is ruled by and influenced by white nationalist christo-fascists is going to bring down America rather than return it to "greatness".

I was brought up that people will show if not tell you who they are by their actions. If people looked at Trump, a known political and public quantity, see his actions and hear his words both politically and publicly, and still cast the ballot despite knowing all of that, they are at best devoid of moral values and at worst, those things said above.

What is encouraging to me (even though it killed Harris' campaign) is that there is a large group of voters that really aren't beholden to either party. If trump doesn't deliver then they could be back. It's due to low information but the left will need to benefit from it as well if they ever want to win an election again.
I predict the dems will win in 2028 or 2032. Look back at the last 100 years, it's uncommon for a party to win more than 3 election terms in a row, there is a lot of back and forth. It's not over for anyone. And the country is more evenly split that what we always hear.
I keep hearing trump won in a "landslide." But it depends how you define landslide. If you look at just electoral votes, it does look pretty lopsided. But if you look at the popular vote, he won by 2.5%. Thats hardly a landslide. And when you considered the lopsided electoral outcome and really most of that were the result of swing states by just 2-3%, it really was a close election.
They don't need any major changes. Just distance themselves from th extreme (as both sides should) and put up a better candidate who went through the entire process next time.

I would love to see some strong evidence that there will be another election in 2028.  The Felon has all three branches of the government tied to his wagon.  I sorry to be throwing a major downer into the conversation, but nothing is certain at this point.  We are in precarious times.  This is why it's important for everyone who loves freedom and democracy to not give in to despondency.
You may be the most paranoid individual on the internet.  No election in 2028?  You cannot be serious, brianlux.
It is far fetched, but Trump did say, if you beautiful christians vote for me, you may not have to ever again. Thats weird and ominous. I can see how its a worrisome

I agree with you and also when you look at what Trump and Project 2025 are going to do, I think it will be apparent why some people have that mentality. Especially with how the SCOTUS was shaped leading to the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

I liked what Beshear had to say, but I also think the presidential candidates are subject to 100x more negative and misleading messages and Harris was painted negative on a national level that he would never even come close to. Everyday, the blatant lies and misleading information were spewing from all avenues of media (social, print and TV). And it works. That's why someone votes for him and Trump or AOC or Baldwin. There's no way Harris could have made in roads with all of those people running a national campaign of big ticket items that they didn't think would make their lives any better.

Biden was for sure going to lose and Harris closed the gap but if they could have had a primary, maybe this wouldn't have happened. I think some of the coup and elitist messaging was easy to accept at that point.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Yeah I'm not sure what Harris could have done other than made a bunch of ridiculous promises that she could not have kept. And then four years from now she would pay for it. I guess at least that may have removed trump from the equation.

And posts like this are why you, and those like you, aren't taken seriously or respected in any way. You are the far right to the "demmies" you so loathe. You are the base MAGA voter that can't ever be reached by a dem so your input (which is usually just mocking and belittling) carries zero weight. You are the perfect image of the one you support. Congratulations on moral bankruptcy. At least you've got money though. Good for you. You'll be fine as usual and as you always have been, even though the last 4 years have been so hard, right?

I see similar statements often and it completely ignores the other choice on offer. Take everything that's loaded there about Trump and realize Democrats couldn't provide a palatable alternative. A lot more will be accomplished in future elections by the party taking that responsibility and accountability.

I agree that the Dems need to step up and offer something to these people ( I mean they did, maybe not enough, but also otherism and misinformation were major influences). But it also exposes the true values of these people too. Many of which purport themselves to be Christian and want to walk with Jesus.

On AMT, we all too often (I have to admit, me included at time) spend time criticizing the other guy when there really isn't anything to be gained by that.
But that said, I also have to say, the phony "Christians" are the basest of the base.  I'm not a religious person myself (wild lands are my sanctuary, the turkey buzzard is my god), but I have read the entire Bible, I admire a lot of the teachings, the poetry, the parables, and especially best of the teachings of Jesus.  So when a great number of the new far right MAGAs who call themselves "Christians", they reflect yet again how opposite their words are from their intent or what they claim to be, or what they want.  They  say "Christian" yet they are not (and Jesus would be pissed).  They say the felon will make life better for them, but the opposite is true.  It's as though they live in upside downtown.

And people got sick of the accusation. Enjoy continuing to lose elections if that is the only message you have.  It worked for decades.  It's over now.
Excellent post, but SHHHHHH!!!…..don’t tell the Demmies this…The overwhelming ideology of this forum is exactly why the Demmies will have a very hard time regaining anything in the YEARS to come.
Y’all really need to worry about Vance, cause that man is a STUD and TRUE LEADER.   I have no doubt he will be the next President after Trump fixes the mess left behind by shit-4-brains Joe and that airhead Harris…
    Happy Days are Here Again!!

Thank you for proving my point…..Lord I love this place, it’s the gift that keeps on giving…please continue w/ this moral elitism.
    Mahalo
Oh please, "shit-4-brains Joe and that airhead Harris" provides so much to a conversation and exposes you for what you are. Prayers to you in one of the 9 circles. I'm sure Trump will be there welcoming you in to his embrace though.
    It's a hopeless situation...

Yep, JD Vance is going to be around for quite some time! He just turned 40 years old in August - that's way younger than most Pearl Jam fans! Think of it - JD will only be 53 years old when he finishes his second term as President! Yes indeed, Happy Days ARE Here Again!

Do you think the same cult of personality can be built around Vance?

Looking forward to finding out a lot more about J6 and the J6 Committee. Also, Trump would be wise to form an Election Integrity Commission. Americans need to have confidence in elections.  Happy days are here again...
Another elections integrity commission? Did you forget he already did that and they found nothing. You: quit wasting tax payer money and cut federal employees while also, spend tax payer money to investigate election fraud again. 🙄
    Regarding 2020, 2022, and 2024 elections.

Still no answers on our Russia questions from the Trump voters here.

    Telling
    What's the Russia question?
Whether Ukraine is entitled to their boarders before the Russian invasion. Chocolatetide was very adamant that Ukraine turned down a deal with Russia to end the war (sourced from a Russian state news agency) and his thought was that they were foolish to turn it down.
This is not easy. I don't know the long shared history of the people of Ukraine and Russia. I feel for the citizens of Ukraine and Russia. War is horrible. I somewhat view it as Iran fighting Iraq, two evil/corrupt governments killing for no logical reason to us in the West. I just don't want American blood and treasure involved.

Right, so J6, many innocent people wrongly convicted and the 2020 - 2024 elections were all rigged, unless an R won. Seems logical. At least Trump won't have to worry about his debts after the next 4 years. Elon will be worth a trillion and Trump will be worth what Elon is today. Elon is going to sell this country down the river to increase his bottom line and Trump won't care as long as he gets a cut. And ya'll were worried about the Biden crime family. What a joke.
