Bernie is still one of the only people that would have gotten me to not vote Democrat if he was on the ticket the last few presidential elections.
Who do you feel would have done best as the Dem nominee?
Which election?  Regardless I am not the base of the Dem party.  I lean more conservative on many issues so Bernie, for me, was way too far a departure from my positions to ever consider.
The one that just happened...just curious if you had a dem in mind that you wish had been in Harris' place

Well, haven't really thought about it since it was always going to be whomever was running against trump.  And again, I am not the target....but, Pete is the guy that I most respect.  I disgree on issues with Pete, but he is always coming from a good place.  Would be beat trump though, I doubt it....needed to run a white male it seems to have a shot.  So to beat trump?  Gavin Newsom maybe?

Or, if it was really about beating trump, go with the non-white male that would have likely excited the Democratic party to get out and vote .... Michele Obama.

I think as I am thinking through this is shows that Biden needed to be a 1 term president and the party needed a primary process. I mean, I was happy they pushed Joe aside after that debate as he had no shot.  I wasn't upset with Harris as it seemed reasonable.  But she clearly did not have the support needed.

Pete is great. I do wonder now if we are ready for a homosexual though. The attacks would have been brutal.

I'm a big Gavin Newsom guy.

And yeah...Michele would have been the key. Unfortunate but I understand her reasons.

I still feel sorry for Biden because I think he would do just fine. The optics are bad but he's capable and I trust the people he surrounds himself with.

I'm afraid the trump show is going to be a complete joke...worse then before because he's chased off so many people.

I hate to see Tom Cotton get a cabinet position or Rubio but I do trust them with the constitution.

What makes you vote democrat to begin with, and not republican?
    Trump.
    Yikes

he's full of shit. the US is never going to embrace going further left. Criticizing dems for not being extreme enough is absurd.

Fuck off Bernie. You lost. And your message was rejected. Those that voted POOTWH aren’t going to vote socialism. Lost cause.
Pretty sure he had more success with his "message" in his runs then you have ever had in a debate on this board. Could be because of your tendency of errors, like the two glaring ones in your quote above. While Bernie is often spot on.

Here you have his winning speech from yesterday, to lighten your mood a bit:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bNNv1AbGYE
So let’s see the repubs deliver for the “working class.” Gee? What might that look like? Good fucking luck, with or without Bernie and his bros.
They seem to deliver more of a promise to the "working class" than "Hello, here is Liz Cheney". Gee.
What “promise” have the repubs kept as it relates to poor, middle class working people? Keeping litter boxes out of classrooms? Keeping tampons out of boys bathrooms? Banning drag queen story hours? Have Bernie get back to us, will ya?
"I will lower taxes on day 1"
"i will lower prices on day 1. You can't even afford bacon!"
"I will bring back jobs on day 1"
"I will deport the non-white people who are stealing your jobs"
"Don't think about the environment, other people or countries or the future. That is someone else's problems and you have to be able to pay your rent"

And, seems like that resonated more in a distressed economy than "I will actually give a credit on starting a small business, because I love the middle class. Now lets welcome out Liz Cheney and by the way, I am not Joe Biden but at the same time I am" when people connected the economy to the candidate.
So, what you’re saying is is that POOTWH made a bunch of promises that he can’t keep and was able to convince people that he knows how to do so? We call people who believe what someone like POOTWH is selling, suckers. I don’t know what you call people like that in Sweden and whether you have them or not but reality used to mean something. How’s Sweden’s inflation, interest and unemployment rates?

    Reality in the US:

    Gallon of gas: $3.10

    30 year fixed mortgage: 6.74%

    unemployment rate: 4.1%

Wage growth: average salary in 2023 = $66,621 equating to a 4.43% increase over 2022.

Inflation rate: 2.44%, down from 2.53% last month and from 3.77% last year.

Rank of US economy coming out of Covid compared to rest of the world: #1 and here’s a few links to the breakdown of the recovery:

    https://www.cbpp.org/research/economy/tracking-the-recovery-from-the-pandemic-recession

    https://www.brookings.edu/articles/the-us-recovery-from-covid-19-in-international-comparison/

So, what policies was Bernie advocating for, introducing as legislation or doing on behalf of the “hard working middle class” that would have lead to better outcomes than what Brandon and Kamala produced? Results versus rhetoric and it’s unfortunate so many people are suckers. I guess Bernie and the bros were for it before they were against it? Fuck Bernie and his post election finger wagging.

    https://www.sanders.senate.gov/bernie-buzz/what-you-need-to-know-about-the-historic-infrastructure-bill/

Maybe get back to us on Brandon and Kamala’s tax policy and what Bernie thinks would be better, eh?
By this post, it doesn't seem like you have even read the thread. You are not going against what I am saying. Your are missing the mark. Fifteen links won't help in that case.
Your initial post is Bernie whining about the “hard working middle class” being forgotten about and ignored by the Democratic Party and I just showed you that actual legislation and leadership by Brandon and Kamala has benefited them. So, what’s Bernie going to do other than flap his lips and point fingers? What substantive actions will he take or do? Oh right, none because he’s one of 100 in a minority party and scorned as a socialist by the majority party. Bernie’s got no juice.

    And what, no movie reference?
You should read threads. Instead of having a snotty attitude.
    but he's right

The strange part is that I feel like Birdie and Harris were closely aligned in their positions back in primaries leading up to 2019 elections.  (In the was that they represented the extreme left agenda)

I like them both as humans.

American voters were not going extreme left, which was why neither got the nom that time.

Would I personally prefer vs extreme right?
    Sure.
But not at all what I want, overall.

Regardless, it is easy for Bernie to blast the losing effort by Dems after the fact.
Give him credit....dude says what he thinks.
I think Sanders has a decent vision for a bunch of things. I just believe he is wrong many times in how we should get there.

Would you have said that Americans were fascist and gung ho about election denial and jailing/shooting political rivals before 2016?
No, I thought there was almost zero chance Mr  Grab Them By The Pu$$y would win in 2016.

This is how it’s supposed to work.  Bernie finds issues he can work with Trump on to help make things better for all.  Hats off to Bernie.  MAGA
