If this dreamboat showed up here I vow to learn how to play guitar!
It's a very rewarding hobby. I recommend learning guitar even if you don't get one delivered. Yamaha makes excellent quality gear, and it's quality / price ratio is top tier. My Yamaha acoustic was $300, but has the quality of those acoustics that are over $1K. To this day, it's my favorite piece of music gear that I own. No cords needed, just pick up and play.
But if this sweet beautiful electric shows up at my door, then I will learn how to play "Hard To Imagine" as my first song on this amazing guitar.

I'm musically trained and can read notes but never played anything with strings. I'd love to. Thought maybe to start with a ukelele and work my way up to guitar.

This is the stack of cards I got in my bag. I like the "concert action" but why no Mike?
Ahh you've got 3 Eddie's though, and a Jeff! Mine had no Jeff, but I did get one Mike and like 4 Matt's. If you go back a couple pages you can see the mike card I have. If you want it I can mail it to you

I love this, and agreed its a great hobby! One of the first things I did when I made a bit of money beyond enough for necessities was I bought a Taylor acoustic, and its one of my greatest joys. you don't need to play for anyone but yourself.

Looks like the XXLs might be light on the Rats...really hoping I end up with one in my bag (crazy thing to say to some of you I'm sure LOL)
Same. I was planning to get one in Indy but never made it to the venue that day, got very excited seeing almost everyone get one and now a li’l worried that my size won’t. Well, the size I bought, XL was sold out so I went XXL and that probably cost me the Rats shirt

Not bad!
Excellent screen name! I met Ziggy and Chara when I worked at the batting cage in Eisenhower Park way back in the day while they were still Isles :(

One thing I haven't bought is a really nice acoustic guitar. I have a Les Paul and a Strat that I have purchased over the years to encourage me to play more and I've failed at that.
I inherited a 1951 Gibson acoustic L50 from my grandpa but I'm too afraid to carry it around. I also have an Alvarez acoustic that my wife bought about 35 years ago that is decent but just doesn't have the action and sound to keep me interested.
I've thought about seeking out a Taylor or Martin acoustic

I got a takamine acoustic like glen Hansard s one. Very nice and a mini Martin. I prefer the takamine
I had a cheap Global acoustic that is about a 3/4 size guitar. Probably 40 years ago my Grandpa was playing it and told me how much he liked it because the neck was smaller, etc. It's a decent guitar for being so generic.
I told him to take it because I was just messing with my electric at that time. When my Grandma died I got my Grandpa's Gibson and I asked about that guitar. My uncle found it in a closet upstairs and gave it to me. Still in decent shape although there is some buzzing on some of the upper frets.
I have been meaning to take it to a guitar shop in town but I'm embarrassed about the brand LOL

Takamine makes a very affordable (and playable) guitar if you find the right one. Peronally, I've played Taylors and Martins and I still love my Gibson J-45. Such a great sounding guitar with awesome action.
I’d play the shit out of that mccready strat.. terribly.. but I’m getting better everyday! Been playing for 20+ years.. just long enough to know how much I have to learn.. love my Martin and sg special.. but that strat would quickly eclipse those two… good luck for anybody still in the running! Has to be someone, why not me!!?!

The acoustic that I bought, and absolutely LOVE, is the Yamaha FG820. The quality is top-notch, and at a very nice price. Highly recommend for anyone that wants to start playing guitar. It compares very nicely to the more expensive guitars.
For any Canadian orders: My mystery box has been sitting with the "Package cleared by foreign customs office" in shipment progress for two weeks.
Anyone else dealing with this? Thanks!

So I'm thinking a week in Fife purgatory, another week in MA USPS black hole, then maybe get it by Hannukah?
