They seem to have lost a little courage. They soundcheck certain songs, put them in the set list, and then scratch them. This seems to be happening more lately.

I gather speed from you fucking with me.

    Best scratch of all time
That was a good call, seems like the show needed to regain the energy. A stadium is different than an arena for crowds

This is legit - it really may be the greatest scratch of all time! ND would have taken so many out - Blood kicked everyone in the teeth. VIVA HEMATOMA GUY

Wreckage every show is too much. No FOMO for this set.
I was worried about this one but ultimately no FOMO.  Think I heard most of these at the other 3 shows aside from Blood and Glorified G.  I wouldn’t mind hearing those but wouldn’t have been worth the trip.  But it leaves a lot on the plate for night 2.

Right?! I wish they were doing more Gigaton this tour but no one needs to hear Never Destination again.

Good song that’s a little flat live, they need to expand the bridge and go further with it
It's not a good song but to each their own, it's god awful especially live, I'm here at Fevway and it sucked
If you don't think it's a good song, it would be surprising if you thought it was good live.

To each their own, indeed, but this is one where I truly don't relate to people who think it's not a good song. I can at least see why mileage varies on "Something Special," but "Wreckage" is arguably the best song on arguably their best album. (I realize that, for certain fans, it's unfathomable that anything post-1998 could be their best album-- also something to which I don't relate.)
Cmon guy, best album? Wreckage best song? I think if PJ made a hip hop album you'd think it'd be the best hip hop album ever, it's ok to criticize and want to hold them to the very high standard they've set for themselves and fans, this was my 39th show, 3 songs not needed, wreckage, just breathe and Song of Good Hope, take those out, replace them with upbeat, fast tempo songs this show would be even better

Um, no. They've released nine albums since 1994. This is the only one since then that I've said might be their best album. In case you hadn't noticed, a lot of Pearl Jam fans really love this album. You know a new Pearl Jam album is genuinely good when even Pearl Jam fans like it.

"Wreckage" was a number one song at rock and Triple-A radio. People who've heard it tend to really like it. How is it an outlier opinion to suggest that a song that has received that response is the best song on the album? (Personally, I'd go with "Got to Give," but "Wreckage" is really close.) Some people genuinely don't like the song, as with any song. And then some people don't give it much attention because it's new and they long ago stopped giving new music the attention they used to.

Something special trounces Wreckage in every aspect live.

Wreckage is a complete snooze in person. It is literally Sirens 2.0. Sooner it's gone the better.

Thanks. I was just happy I caught the throw.
  • I love Wreckage and hope it is one of the songs from Dark Matter that stay intact after this album cycle in a live setting
  • I like Wreckage. I think it's a good song, and a good song live.
I wouldn't choose to have it in my setlists, but no complaints.

I don't really love Something Special. It reminds me of a Jack Johnson song...
    Yeah I said it.
    It's OK.

There comes a point in these setlist threads, especially after where it is basically everyone listening the songs they think suck most and shouldn't be performed live lol which I dunno, as someone who chases experiences rather than setlists even the songs that aren't my favorites I can still appreciate and respect the decisions the band makes by playing them

It's always great to see them but the flow of the show was kinda choppy and a couple songs like DTE and Blood were kinda sloppy. SOLAT through YL really captured that old time feeling. Anyway here's John Krasinski.

It’s a live show and they played great it’s not a studio and they don’t  get do overs   I guess you must be a perfectionist

Amazing show. As someone who is only seeing them once this tour I’m so happy. Got all my staples (I need Corduroy, GTF and Betterman every show), my new favourites (Wreckage, Setting Sun) and then a 90s heavy set. Footsteps, Down and SOLAT are three non album tracks I’ll take any day. Throw in my top two from No Code.  Heartfelt stories about Chris Cornell and Tim Wakefield, with a perfect summery breeze. So good.

I’ve seen some classic shows (Jones Beach, MSG 2010)  but this show had a very special fell.

  • Another pause for a crowd issue
I kinda feel like these are for theater…
The one in Baltimore was very real.
The one during Just Breathe tonight was also very real. Someone standing just behind us collapsed and took a hard fall. The sound of them hitting the metal floor was loud. We lifted them over the rail and handed off to PJ security. We asked about them later and were told that they were doing ok. It was scary for a minute.
