You can be on there because your audience is old, and thus in the show's demographic, or you can be on there because you're really popular, and old people look to the show to find out why popular artists are popular. If it were 1993, I'd have assumed the latter. In 2024, I assume the former.
In the last couple years I’ve seen The Hold Steady, Boygenius, Bright Eyes & Modest Mouse all appear on Sunday Morning, so they definitely get some bands younger than PJ
L.L. was done today and he's younger. They've also done Post Malone I believe. And Taylor Swift
2 Lyfts I was in last week the guys were playing LL Cool J, out with a new album. I was like "see we all like our 90s vintage acts" (lol)

Check out the archives. CBS Sunday Morning is not remotely an old band thing. Fantastic what they've been doing the last couple years and glad to see Pearl Jam being a part of it.
I’m assuming this is an Anthony Mason segment. He’s a huge music guy, I’ve seen him interview U2 and REM for CBS. Looks like he was at one of the MSG shows

Anybody know the precise time this segment will air on the East coast?? As much as I would love to watch CBS Sunday Morning News all morning I prefer watching the NFL preview shows…don’t want to miss this though!

It's on at 6 a.m. PDT. This is why God made DVRs. (Not to mention the fact that they post everything on YouTube, including (typically) an extended version of the piece.)
