Did anyone catch what lyrics that Ed was singing when they played Stranglehold from Ted Nugent?

  • Thought the band was on fire coming off MSG and Philly but the crowd was lame. Maybe it was just my section? I gave it all my energy in the main set to show the band my appreciation for how hard they were playing. Section 122/123 row L….no one knew any words. People sitting. Some guy threw up and cleared out 2 rows of people. At least 8 people in front of me snuck into GA. Eddie: “looks like the left side is doing better than the right” 💯 Again, band was fantastic
Sorry you found the crowd lame in your section, but it was great and loud and energized in 119 and throughout the building from what I saw.  Set list was excellent, especially Can’t Keep, Tremor Christ, Corduroy and Deep. There’s plenty else I’d love to have heard, but what can you do, it’s one show. My only wish was they followed up Can’t Keep with Save You.  But the band was strong and feeding off the energy from the start. And GH and his band btw got things started right. Great Baltimore show!
Definitely seemed more engaging in the back half of the lowers. Front half of the lowers was brutal. Thought the encore was a little short too. Not complaining about the band whatsoever.

  • Crowd was fantastic in 106, loud and moving and singing along, and it looked like that from above viewing the floor which looked energetic. Eddie commented on the energy several times during the show. I wish they'd kept in Setting Sun

I think the problem with setting sun is it doesn’t do well in the spot it’s in. I understand wanting to end with the fan favorite high energy usuals. I think it would work perfectly in the number 2 or 3 spot as it starts slow then builds to that end. It’d be a great transition to the rocking songs like present tense does.
  • Another great show by the band. They sound so fucking good together right now. They’re just super tight and Eddie’s vocals are on point.

Can’t Keep was a highlight. Can’t believe they opened with that!! Right into Present Tense was great. I’ve missed Spin the Black Circle so that was great to hear as well. And Tremor Christ is a personal favorite of mine so always happy to hear that. Also fucking DEEEP!! Kind of bummed they crossed out River Cross and Setting Sun and one played 4 DM songs but I’ve been lucky enough to see most the album on this tour. Agree with whoever said Upper Hand is making their way as an all time favorite.

I will say that I thought the crowd was very solid. Honestly thought it was better than MSG 1. But man it really makes you realize how amazing and special those two Philly shows were. Absolutely no knock on this Baltimore crowd but it can’t help but feel a little tame and subdued coming off those two Philly shows. Not quite the same energy as the Monday Philly crowd let alone Saturday. I think probably for the best this was my last show of this leg because I think I’d still be chasing those Philly show highs which isn’t realistic.

Overall what an amazing run of shows starting in Chicago. So appreciative of this band and the amazing shows they still put on and surprises they continue to give us!!

17th show, last one b4 this was MSG 2022.  I’m from Pgh, but thought that NYC crowd was on another level.  Last night might have approached that crowd.  Incredible.  Band always brings it but they seemed to just love the venue, crowd, just being there and rocking the f out.

    new songs sounded fucking great.

Cant Keep, PT, GTF, Corduroy just seemed so right.

Jeremy is a personal favorite, and I know we’ve heard it 14 billion times, but I hadn’t heard it in 4-5 shows, it had a ton of fucking energy.

“Judges don’t mess with our girls” (paraphrased) on the Daughter tag, had the hair up on my neck.

no expert, but thought this was a GREAT show.

Crowd was good by me in 121, and seemed to be rocking in most sections. It wasn't "Philly on a Saturday night" crowd, but I think that crowd holds its own with most shows I've seen, including MSG and Boston shows.
  • I don't get the Philly superiority take. I think there is a lot of bias at play there.

Awesome show and my son had a blast.  I need to listen to the boot but I think that was the best version of Black I’ve heard. That main set order/choices were fantastic.

I said the same thing about Black! That and DTE were standouts to me among the staple/regular songs.

Sometimes it’s definitely bias. But not with Philly 1. EV literally said during night 2 it was one of if not the best NA crowd they’ve played for.

Im from Philly and I thought the crowd was awesome but I may be biased being in GA. I was pretty much just staring down Mike, Jeff and Eddie. 😎🎸

Not stirring the pot it was just my take. There was no “yeah” chant during Alive that I recall. I started the daughter chant, absolutely no one partook except my friends. To say that crowd was comparable to msg or Philly is blasphemy lol. Also, GA didn’t look anywhere near as full as the other shows. I thought Philly 2 was 85% of Saturday and might have been the show I had most fun at out of 9 shows this year.
Again, band was incredible. Eddie sounds so good. Maybe I was spoiled this past week. Was hoping for another tour debut after Can’t Keep, but that open was great.
Side note, it was one of my best friends’ first show and yes he was wasted but he had an absolute blast and was blown away. I’ve taken 3 people in the past year to their first PJ shows and all three called their shows one of, if not the best concert they’ve ever seen.
Lived in NoVA for 15 years, my first time back in Baltimore since before covid….big ooooof

  • In terms of setlist, it was great, but I still think Ft Worth N1 last year has been my favorite outside of Wrigley 2013.

Were you at the Philadelphia shows? I’m not a Philly guy, so definitely not biased, but the crowd is just different in Philly as a matter of fact. I don’t think you would ever hear an entire crowd singing every word to Red Mosquito over Eddie in any other place in the country.

That being said, the crowd can elevate a great performance, but it’s never going to make or break a show for me.

As for last night, another great show. The band sounds inspired and far exceeded my expectations on this tour. I went to the last 3, and thought they were all great; Philly 1 was an all-timer. Sound quality last night started out pretty rough from where I was sitting, but really came together when Wreckage was played and actually sounded much better than Wells Fargo for the remainder of the show.

Baltimore didn’t quite reach the heights of the Philly shows, but overall a pretty flawless performance. Great hearing deep and tremor christ. That was my first time hearing Can’t Keep, which was cool, but sounded terrible. (Not the band, just the audio in the building).

For a while there I was wondering why the band was still keeping Lukin in the rotation, as I’ve heard some pretty terrible vocal performances on it over the past few years or so, but Ed really nailed it last night. Naturally, he doesn’t have the same capabilities that he had 20+ years ago, but it seems like he’s trying harder (or something) on this tour, and he sounds fucking great.

Wouldve loved to hear setting sun, but I guess it just wasn’t meant to be on this go round. Hopefully it sticks around in the future so I can see it live someday.

Exactly my belief.  I've always felt Setting Sun would make a better opener than closer.

Philly superiority speaks for itself over the bands history.  There is no debate.

I was at Philly in 2013, but not these ones. I have never been to a show where the crowd was not audibly singing pretty much every song

Agree with you about crowds not making or breaking shows

Interesting to hear Ed dismiss the Blood request last night - I think we can officially consider that one retired
