At this point everyone should know what to expect. Slow opening, new ones , a few deep ones. It’s very formulaic but still has the ability to surprise. And most importantly they sound great.KN219077 said:

Why disparage those that have a different opinion than you? The board is fun because everyone comes at these shows from a different perspective and all opinions are valid. I have used this analogy before but it is like having a debate about the best ice cream favors and then someone comes in and says to shut up; you should be happy you get ice cream at all. Zero fun in that. I continue to not understand everyone who calls those that have a slightly negative opinion "complainers" or to shut up and just enjoy the band.Gern Blansten said:

Well said. I think when you combine the shorter sets, more repeats, way more expensive tickets and worse 10C locations it's very reasonable to have a solid but not spectacular time at a show without being bombarded with accusations of negativity.MJ178168 said:

I think I'm the opposite in preferring 2022 over last night (I was at 2022 as well but not last night). The only thing I would do is swap out the 3 Gigaton songs for 3 DM songs lol. It's close, but that Release, Garden, Come Back, Present Tense, Porch start was wild.JimmyV said:Having been there in 2022 vs just seeing last night's setlist...MSG 2024 > MSG 2022
Either way, both looked great. Excited to see what's in store for tonight. Curious if any non DM songs will get a repeat.0 -
It’s cool they are trying new things and had some good images, but it was like we were missing five thousand of our brothers and sisters. Although the msg crowd always seems to bring it, there was something missing, as there is nothing like the band being surrounded by enthusiastic msg fans. No ballpark, no sphere, no way.OceansJenny said:

This set list was better than MSG2022 but I do think the energy from 2022 was just on another level. I have rarely heard msg so loud (maybe during that crazy betterman applause in 2010)
of course it’s impossible to pick. Yesterday is the only time I was lucky enough to be in the pit so that was unique. Once you have gone to a lot of shows, it’s more than just the set or the show it’s also about other unique things: who you met, where your seats were, who you danced with etcJones Beach II (2000), Holmdel (2003), Camden I, East Rutherford II, Gorge I, Gorge II (2006), MSG I, Boston II (2008), Spectrum II, Spectrum III, Spectrum IV (2009), MSG I, MSG II (2010), Prague (2012), Philly I (2013), Philly I, Philly II, Fenway I (2016), Fenway I (2018), MSG (2022), MSG I, Fenway 1 (2024)0 -
This ⬆️ Perfectly said and exactly how I feel.Discopij said:

It's funny you mention the start. It was fire right up until the fight stoppage during Porch. I couldn't believe that nonsense. Took me out of the show a little bit.CantKeepmedown said:

For real, this.Abe Froman said:
Why? Because they express an honest take after a show? I didn’t love the Indy show last week. Does that make me “miserable”?THEBIBLEISTEN said:

Last night was my 14th PJ show and by far my least favorite attended. In fact, I said before the show that Pearl Jam has never had me leave a shot less than very satisfied, and that changed last night. I found the setlist to be weird, had almost no interest in the show until LBC started, and overall thought it was a weaker show with a very low energy crowd for MSG.
People are allowed to have opinions and criticize bands they love.0 -
It seems like the MSG shows were love them or hate them, kind of weird. They look good on paper, but I wasn’t there. I think at this point the band found a formula for what works on there set list, mixing a couple of rarities with a few hits, and add the typical new album stuff and you have your show. That’s not bad, it’s just more predictable. I would think at the tonight runs they would not repeat as many songs as they do, no real point when you have a great catalog full of hits that you can mix up to keep the casual fans happy . At this point, you don’t need to play DTE every night, and Jeremy, Alive, and Even Flow can be rotated in and out and not be played every night and still leave everyone happy.0

N1 had less energy at the start because Pendulum and Immortality, although great songs, are not raging singalongs. Then they were into DM quicker.
Then N2, Garden only gets played a quarter of the time perhaps and its a rage. Then Cuordoroy, Hail, EF.
After he obviously wanted to start N1 chill, was expecting N2 starting as a rage.0 -
I was at 9.11.22 and thought it was the best PJ crowd I've ever been a part of, and up there with 10.30.09 as my favorite attended PJ show ever.
9.4.24 was the worst PJ crowd and my least favorite.
