Wrigley Weather

  • Yeah, 2018 (N2) was a cluster. The inner concourse was packed like sardines, and I lost my spot on the rail. However, once the storms passed and they came out on stage, it was heaven. Last I saw (for 8/29), thunderstorms in the morning/afternoon, and a chance of rain in the evening.
Man, being packed in like sardines in the narrow concourse of Wrigley with high humidity (I had been living in Vegas for the previous 16 months before that show) was absolutely miserable.  But that opening set of songs, GTF, Why Go, Go, Last Exit, was incredible.  Well worth the wait.
Lived in Vegas for seven years back in the late 90's...and yeah, it made me miss the "dry heat" being in that concourse. But you're right, the band knew what everyone had gone through, and came out rocking from the get-go. I probably bitch/complain too much regarding losing my original spot, but the more I think about it, Wrigley 2018 N2 was yet another scenario where "we're all in this together" :)

Was at '13 and coming for this year's shows.  Outdoor show, long travel, and Chicago all equal rain.  I just want to be able to stay in my seat like before.  I don't ever see 3-hour downpours anymore and it was so refreshing.

After 3 nights of perfect weather for Metallica and 30 Seconds to Mars a couple weeks ago.  I knew the odds were good we may get something at one of these shows.  But maybe we will get lucky like N2 in 2018 and it will rain before show starts, hour delay and we still get our full show in.

Spoken like a true Chicagoan. Will fly in the day of N1 and will pack a cheap poncho just in case. But promised myself I wouldn’t check the weather report for the exact same reasons you point out. Will enjoy the day no matter what.

Reminds me of standing in line at the 2013 Wrigley show. That day was ridiculously hot. Stood in line for over two hours to get merchandise. But met a lot of very cool fans that day!
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

I was at the the 2013 show, on the field, evacuated, waited it out, then the most amazing show I've ever seen. Leaving Wrigley at 2:30am was the most surreal thing I've ever done. As a life-long Chicagoan, screw the weather, and whatever happens, happens. No matter what the show will be amazing!!
