REQUEST: Just Breathe and Smile in Indy for Melissa

I wasn’t going to do this because this show is going to be difficult enough to get through as it is, but here it goes.
My cousin Melissa passed away unexpectedly at the end of last month of a heart attack. PJ was by far her favorite band, she’d been a 10C member over 20 years, kept renewing in the hopes that they’d come back to Michigan! She saw them at least a dozen times, three with me, i believe 6 with one of her brothers.
She had been through a lot the last decade, in July 2013 her dad died of cancer, two months later her youngest brother Adam (she was the oldest and only girl of 6 kids) was diagnosed with cancer and died in December 2013, then her next youngest brother Kevin died after a brief battle with cancer in January 2019. During Adam’s illness the family created these wristbands that say Team Adam Stay Positive on one side and Breathe and Smile on the other. So i thought it would be a fitting tribute for me to request Just Breathe, which we played during her visitation and at her funeral, and Smile at the Indy show my son and i will be at.
And beware, if this actually happens i’ll be the tall bald guy with a longish beard wearing a battle jacket in the pit lying in the fetal position balling.
Melissa and her Godson Micah

Sorry for your loss.  Been a bad year for me as well losing my brother at the age of 51 last year in June and my Father at 76 this june.  The band (especially live) helped me a lot with my brother's loss last year and I expect his year with my father's loss.

I hope they help you too.  And good luck, I will focus my energy on 1 song...Just Breathe for Melissa!

I gave Eddie the bracelet pictured above during Yellow Ledbetter and he put it on. Melissa is up in heaven freaking out right now! What a night, i can’t even process this. Eddie also early in the show handed me his lighter and gave my son a pick during Yellow Ledbetter, we both got a pick and a signed Polaroid from Mike too. Melissa was definitely there tonight making sure we had the most incredible experience imaginable.

Thank you, and i’m so sorry for your losses as well. It’s never easy.
It’s been great to share this experience with Melissa’s brothers the past few days. I only told one of them that i was going to try to give Eddie the bracelet, so it came as a complete surprise to the other two when i started sending them pictures of Eddie wearing it. They were blown away. I’ve found a couple videos of me giving it to him too, both from far away, so you can’t see it all that well in what’s on YouTube so far, but still cool to see and send them.
