Sorry that he lost his voice.

I can't say I  ever loved Aerosmith, but I like them, and they've been a fixture in rock and roll for so long... man, it's like the end on an era.  Sad news.

Sad news, and I hope Steven medically is OK w/ the vocal chords.

I'm so glad I pulled a last-min ticket for their 50th show at Fenway a couple of years back, having never seen them before. They sounded so fucking good that night.

I'm not a fan of watching the bands of my youth aging out of touring, it makes me sad.  I had the fortune of seeing Aerosmith twice.  Once when I lived in Edmonton they did a co-headlining tour with Motley Crue.  Both bands were on fire that night.  My only complaint was due to the co-headlining, Motley Crue got 70 minutes, and Aerosmith got 90 minutes.   90 minute wasn't enough.  Crowd wasn't ready to go home.

Saw them again in Victoria, which was pretty cool, because we only have a small arena, so bigger acts usually don't come here.  That show was awesome!

My favourite albums are Permanent Vacation, Pump, and Get a Grip.  Probably because that's what they put out when I was getting into music.   Helluva run.  My younger self didn't even realize they were the same band that played Dream On.

The last time I saw them was in Las Vegas for their residency...that's been a few years but they were great.

I saw them twice - good shows. The one, in Vegas, the real life "Janie" was in attendance and they played that song, which was a bit of a rarity.

I always end up in convos where I bitch about them selling out with that Asteroid song and people are like "that's my favorite song!".

I know some old-timers trash anything post 70s, but Pump is the gateway album that got me hooked on rock & roll. I only knew the lame-ass elevator music my parents always had on the radio before that. Anyway, Young Lust fucking rocks - I don't care what you say. And there's a song about doing it in an elevator - how fun!

Yah I love that run from Permanent Vacation to Get A Grip.  Maybe that's the Gen X era as we would of been kids and/or early teens in the back part of the 80s and early 90s.    Maybe it depends what age you were when you had your first exposure to the band.

Saw them in Dublin. Great gig. Now I regret not getting the vintage tour tee.

I remember a stage hand nonchalantly biffing a cushion on stage-I was like why the hell did he do that but then Steven deliberately fell on it and did his revolving singer thing with a camera on him. Guess you need to cushion those falls at that age!

They lost me after Done with Mirrors. I admit that there might be some good stuff on their subsequent records that escaped me (since I didn't buy them) but as soon as they were on MTV all the time I lost interest.

Testament does a good cover of Nobody's Fault.

Sorry to hear that about Tyler.  He's definitely a character. Henry Rollins does a great interview w him.

Was hoping to catch them this year as a bucket list band. Wasn't the biggest fan, but I respect that they were always around and always rocking.

crazy amazing cryin' was a fabulously funny SNL sketch. and for good reason. their 70's output is incredible. the 80's/90's cheese was a bit much.
