My Truck Was Stolen Earlier This Month

My truck of almost twenty years was stolen earlier this month. It was really important to me. I took it to every stop on the tour of my life for the past twenty years. There were a lot of important events in this time frame. I have seen Pearl Jam fifty times and this truck was there for a lot of them.

It had the Bose surround sound and a six disk cd changer. I loved listening to music in that vehicle. It sounded so good! Music is such an important part of my life. Especially this band.

Of course there were some Pearl Jam cds in there. I feel really violated. Someone took a really nice vehicle that I used for personal and some work. They also got away with some sentimental items, some cds, and some of my work equipment.

I am having a really tough time with it. This is the shittiest thing that has ever happened to me. I hope some good comes from it.

I hope somehow you are able to get your truck back! Twenty years, you must have taken really good care of it. At this point, it was not just a truck, but a piece of your life ripped from you.
    People can be so crappy.

I had a duffle bag full of my best and most special concert shirts stolen out of my trunk at an Ed solo concert in Santa Barbara. I still mourn some of those shirts (Ramones 20th anniversary shirt, bought at SD show 1995 when they opened for PJ...). I can't imagine if they took my car too.
I remember being at some shows with you and your girlfriend over the years, and Mike's booksigning. Longtime dedication.

Sorry this happened to you. Really hope there's a way that you get it back.

Ahh sux! I had someone clean out my car. Cds books and car stereo. Even left a broken knife on my car floor. Pretty sure I forgot to lock my doors. All replaceable. But Def felt bad about that. Sorry :(

Thank you for all the kind comments. It happened on July 4th. One of my favorite holidays. It's hard to believe that it will come back at this point.

It's not only the attachment to it, but I needed it for some of my work and to get around.

I am waiting on the insurance company to send me a revised number. They gave me a low offer, so I sent them some comps. Regardless of what it is, replacing it with another truck and replacing the contents is going to cost me a significant amount of money.

Man, I really feel for you. I can't imagine how I'd feel if something happened to my '93 Ford Ranger. It's really special to me, a time capsule back to the 90s when things seemed so much easier and fun. It has a cassette player I love to use.  I baby it, only drive it a few times a month to keep the mileage low (only at 89k right now). A tree fell on it during a hurricane last year and added some dents, but no mechanical problems thank god. I'm hoping to just keep cruising in it until I'm an old man.

I really hope things improve for you, and like you said, something good can come of it. Find yourself another nice truck and start creating some memories (easier said than done, I know).

Thank you. I can relate. I didn't need another truck. This one was twenty years old, but just right for me. I took good care of it.
