Does the VP even matter? Harris was picked because of her gender/race. Appointed “Border Czar” and supervised the largest influx of illegal immigration. Hated by her staff and reason why Biden won’t be replaced as nominee.

Did Mike Pence really do anything under Trump before? We know Biden did little to nothing under Obama.

Its just a face, a name, 1 VP debate and hoping to gain votes in the region or demographic where they’re from.

Democrats will complain whoever it was. The unhinged Democrats will be hysterical over Vance like it’s the end of Democracy again, but would be hysterical regardless. Republican Trump backers will agree “great pick” whether who it is what they wanted or not.

I don’t think Vance moves the needle much either way.
I think JD Vance's young age will be quite attractive to millenials. He'll be just 40 years old when he and President Trump are elected this Nov. and second only to JFK as the youngest U.S. president, should he be elected in 2028.
Yeah sure my two millennials would rather eat dog shit than vote for the rapist team!

Tell you the truth I’ve never ever told them who they should vote for not once! They are independent individuals who happen to know a despicable human but they know how I feel about what’s going on in this crumbling democracy. Thanks for the compliment

But millennials will hate his stance on women, immigrants, people of color, etc.
I'm not so sure about either point. JD will be the youngest of the four by 19 (I think) years. But he doesn't come across as young, at least not to me. He's a chubby, bearded, whiner with boomer vibes.

As for his stances, I'm not sure. I'd say his takes on immigrants play well with nearly every demographic and his distaste for DEI will help him with most.  As for women, you'll definitely see the party and him downplay that until the election because the whole "tradwife" and national abortion ban thing probably is unpopular. But I sometimes don't think people really feel the gravity of what could happen.

It sounds like you taught them the most important things.
We emphasized critical thinking skills and common decency; our kids were exposed to the political process as part of their education, but we never told them how they ought to vote. One is a centrist and one is a progressive. Neither one is about to vote for someone just because they are young.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.

The pre-politics Vance is much different than the guy now. I first saw him interviewed when his book came out and he seemed fairly reasonable.

He opposes same sex marriage and thinks pornography should be illegal. The latter might be hard to form a solid opinion on but opposing same sex marriage is just straight up bigoted.

I purchased/read his book on the advice of a friend (who I joking told yesterday I would never forgive for his role in me directing money to this sniveling toady).  It was a decent book and when he got into politics I didn't have any negative thoughts. Then he freaked out about the prospect of Trump, probably because he thought most people would and that would make him look smart. Then he did a 180 and Trump became the cult figure he is, also to curry favor with votes. At this point, who the hell knows what he stands for? He stands for riding the wave where it takes him. And in my opinion it makes him even more dangerous...he'll advocate the jailing of all who display wokeness if it will go over well with Elon and his minions. I personally think he'll be vicious just to show off.

Nah. He was speaking his mind back then like most of the posters on this forum have never stopped doing.

He was correct about Trump when he spoke freely.
