R.I.P. Willie Mays

This is a tough one.
What an amazing ball player. I don't know how many times I saw Willie Mays play at Candlestick, but it was a bunch. My folks used to take us up to the city to see the giants. Sunny days, rainy days, foggy days, windy days. Didn't matter, we went. Willie Mays was simply amazing to watch. I know this is selfish of me to say, but I really feel like a big part of my past just fell off the earth. But the memories are there, for sure.
R.I.P the great Willie Mays.

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”

Dude has a 156 WAR.  I liked reading stories about him.

My father would talk about his famous catch in the World Series.  He said it wasn't so much the catch but the recovery and throw after that made it spectacular.

    I have his book autographed.

I was surprised to see he died because I honestly would have guessed he had already passed. Dude had a great life.

Three ballplayers I wish I had seen play live. My dad always said Clemente was his favorite.

Oh how I miss those days.  Mays in center field. Willie "Stretch" McCovey playing first base.
And the time we went to Candlestick for a game and for one inning the entire outfield was all Alou brothers- Felipe, Matty, Jesus.  That was cool!
