    I honestly didn't follow the group stage too closely. That sucks Croatia didn't advance. They couldn't beat Albania?!?

    Italy often performs in a middling fashion in the group stage and then starts a run in the knockouts, and sometimes the reverse. 4 World Cups and 2 Euros - and plenty of other finals appearances. Can't argue with the results.
