Beware Of Kyle Crossman

Everyone beware of Scammers. Recently sent a member $26 to cover some merch. I even paid for theirs, for getting them for me. They said they'd get them out to me last Monday, in which they still haven't shown up. They were real communicative until they got my money. Haven't heard from them for a week now.
Not that $26 is a whole lot of money, but it's the principle of the matter you know? I guess I should've had someone else get them for me, but hey...you live you learn. Buyers/traders beware of scams.

Also beware of accusing a fellow fan of being a thief without giving him and the USPS time to deliver. As we suggested to you regarding your similar accusitory post in The Porch, Monday was a postal holiday. So if the package was mailed on Tues. it sat in the post office all day, which means it has only been in transit Wed. - Sat. (4 days.) I'd be surprised if you get anyone else to ever help you in the future.

The seller should reply either with tracking info or a general status update. That is not too much to ask.

I'm not saying this dude is definitely a scammer but there is a certain level of responsibility you're taking on when selling stuff online. There's trust involved and you want to make sure the person who sent you money is comfortable.

I'm guessing so. They replied to my post in the thread about 2024 merch. 16th post down from the top. And replied to the other member who was looking for the same sticker/button set as me.

It's my understanding from researching the posts that Kyle was not "selling stuff online". He very kindly answered a request from LMPS to pick up some stuff for him from the merch stand. He wasn't doing this as a "business transaction", he was doing it to be nice. I see other posts from LMPS requesting people pick up posters for him, too. As the old saying goes, "No good deed goes unpunished."

I have LOTS of questions and thoughts about the whole "while you're in the merch line please take my order" requests, most of them negative. But if you're taking someone's money, especially in excess of costs as it appears here, you're selling stuff online. We'd just be quibbling over who initiated the transaction.

Short version: I think it's crazy to agree to buy extra merch for strangers and assume the responsibility of getting it to them. I also think what people making this request offer as compensation is not nearly enough. It's made me rethink people selling this stuff on eBay.

I usually keep it to myself though, as whatever deals people work out here is their business. But if you take money from someone, you have an obligation to fulfill even if you signed up for a bad deal.

Not everyone lives on these boards all day long. OP deserves their goods but might be jumping the gun abit on this one.

You don't need to live on the boards to reply to a message

You ever see that you have a message but then get distracted by something else and close the page before you have a chance to respond? Happens all the time

How would you reply to a message from the boards if they aren’t  on the board?

I get email alerts but even if those are turned off I would proactively send a message letting the guy know when I shipped and provide the tracking number if it was a method that had one

I know we've veered into general shipping etiquette but as it relates to this specific scenario while it's too early to be calling him a scammer, I'd be a little nervous about the communication. Hopefully the guy is ok and it's just a matter of being checked out.

Yah 1 week could be poor communication, not scamming.  A month, probably a scam :)

That you haven't received it isn't suspicious...the lack of a response is for sure.

I still haven't received my merch from the member. However I did see that they were last active on here as of June 5th. So I'm sure that they've now seen the last 4 or 5 messages that I sent them regarding my items that I paid for, not to mention their set I paid for. Scammer.
