Release could open every show & still be legendary. I think this one is special for 2 reasons:
● R.I.P. Bill Walton
● I believe this is the first time Ed is performing it in Seattle since hearing & acquiring that tape of his dad singing around clubs in Illinois (see: Earthling).
"Oh, dear dad... can you see me now??"
The 2nd verse takes on so much more meaning, now that he himself is a dad & a singer. And now, he has a voice to put to the other end of the conversation 🙏35 years, 35 shows.
