TM F2F payments & Wise for Canadians

Anyone gotten payout from Ticketmaster for Fan to Fan sales yet?

I’m Canadian and opened up a Wise account to sell tickets to the Portland show.  With the concert now done, will I need to fill in the Tax Identification Number (TIN) to get my money?  I’ve got a US SSN, but no idea what my TIN would be.

Would appreciate any help that people may have.

    Hi!

The TIN is just the tax identification number, which is what a SSN is. That's what I used and I  (US citizen) sold and already paid for both Vancouver shows that I had extra tickets for. Took about 9 days after the show. I used Wise to do so as well.

Having a problem with setting up a WISE account.

I've finished the Canadian account portion and they took my deposit but when I try to access the US Bank Account page they want a bank statement or one of several other docs proving I live in Canada. They keep rejecting it. I'm kind of stuck now.

Could it be that I setup my WISE account with firstname middlename lastname as it appears on all my government ID and all my financial accounts are only firstname lastname?

    Call them.

Did you sign up with a license and then a selfie?

you need to get them to get the ID verification to prompt again and do a pic of passport and then selfie. I also had them remove my middle name from account as the wise account was just first and last.

Waiting for the Ticketmaster deposits to confirm my account. Hope that comes through soon.

I signed up with a driver's license and selfie.

I will call them and have them remove my middle name.

    Thank you for the advice.

If you have a TD bank account in Canada it will take you all of 10 minutes setting up a TD bank account in the States. The cross border banking toll free number is staffed by very friendly and professional customer service agents who will be glad to talk you through the entire process.

The minimum balance required to waive monthly fees was $100 when I opened the US domiciled account last year but has since increased to $500. Funds in the US domiciled account can be wired back to a CDN domiciled US$ account at no charge (the fee is reimbursed next business day).

I've looked at that option. I have a TD Visa but no TD bank account. If I can't get a solution with WISE I may go this route.

I also use the TD option, and my US domiciled TD Bank works great for doing things that need a  US bank account.

The unfortunately thing, is I think I read that TD stopped allowing you to open them remotely, which mostly defeats the purpose.  Maybe it had something to do with the sanctions in the US :(

RBC also offers this.  I have that and it works great.  There is an annual fee but well worth it.

The account can be opened online and support is available over the phone. There are no sanctions.

TD waves any monthly/yearly fee if you keep $500 US in the account.

If I can't get this issue sorted with WISE, I'm going to go with TD. I already deal with them because I have a credit card with them.

I’m still waiting for the two deposits to come through to verify my account. They haven’t come through yet and I started the process early last week.

I did call two or three times to get someone to understand what I was talking about - and once they did - they were super helpful. TM said that the 2 deposits for me will happen when I sell the tickets - which explains why I haven't seen anything yet.

The GBP account will not work, you'll need to ensure that they re-trigger the verification using another means of ID (I used passport on my second verification) and then a selfie. It was less than a day and I had US Account details.

Well, they (WISE) had another look at the documents I submitted for the final verification step and they accepted them. All good to go now. Bring on F2F.

I'm pretty sure I'm right.  It was a recent change, within the last 12 months.  You can't open them remotely anymore.  You have to physically open it in a US TD Branch.

Also I chose the bad word, not sanctions, but the impact of pleading guilty to violating US Money Laundering rules, and now being in the process of completely revamping their US anti money laundering program.
