🥲
a wonderful collection of near perfect tunes, one after another, no skips, no disappointments, only joy and uplifting music for OUR soul by our favorite band expressing themselves and clearly enjoying it!
perfect Gigaton follow up!
Pear Jam is influenced by Pearl Jam and that band’s influences.  Bruce, U2, Springfield, and all those rockers from the 80’s.
Pulling sounds and schemes from their catalog which is inspired the old PJ songs. Even moody oldies from the 50’s!

My first listen through was on my bike in the peaceful forest, I was riding high.  Repeat 2x.  Cutting grass, taking walks and showers, I hit play.  By the title track I’m high!  Naturally!

so now I check lyrics.  Blown away!  A masterpiece for my generation- Gen X

thank you Mike, Jeff, Ed, Stone, Matt

Keep Looking Forward

11songs, 48 minutes, how do they do it?
2 hoops in the back, 2 cups up front, how do they do it?
Just on a walk in my hood, and I was jamming to got to give and didn’t see a crossing guard. I told him I was jamming to the new Pearl Jam and he smiled big with a toothless grin and asked if I like it.

    I DO!!!

Absolutely. Dark Matter has the best continuity and flow of any PJ album in a long long time. It is so easy to keep playing it on repeat, now one month out since it was released. I hope they are still playing most of the album when they tour the East Coast in September. I want to hear all of Dark Matter at both shows I am going to. This is like when Wilco released Star Wars. It was such a breath of fresh air, and a burst of unexpected energy. Playing the whole album every night of the tour just made so much sense and was so celebratory. I knew I was catching lightning in a bottle and I wanted to hear it while they were doing it. I knew that the next tour they would revert back to playing the hits and the occasional rarity. The PJ guys are clearly very happy with this album. Make the most of it while the mood is hot.

    She's a beaut, Clark!

All of my kids love it too (ages 7-14).

Proud poppa moment today. My 7 year old was dragging his feet getting ready for school and when I went into his room to tell him to hurry up he had Scared of Fear playing. Turns out he's been listening to the whole album on his own.

My kids haven't been as interested in DM as they were with Gigaton. Hoping they get in to it yet, but they would listen to Gigaton all the time and read the lyrics.
    It's a hopeless situation...

This album keeps growing for me. I'd say the songs are even better experienced in person. It was really exciting to hear the new songs at the show. "Dark Matter" should always be in their set. It just rocks out live.
1991- Hollywood Palladium, California with Temple of the Dog, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains -RIP Magazine Show Oct. 6th
    1992- Lollapalooza, Irvine, California
    Nothing since then. I suck.
2016- Fenway Park, Boston - Both glorious nights
    2022- Oakland Night 2
    2024 Sacramento, CA

This album has such nice and rich sound, it could be the best mixed one yet. We can hear every guy’s parts perfectly and Mr. Vedder’s voice sounds so smooth.  Beautiful
my favs are upper hand and got to give today

It’s so great, thank God for Pearl Jam

This 48 minute ride is a perfect Pearl Jam record.
exactly what I needed and always hope for and am never disappointed.  I always think “just gimme something to put on in the car or on my bike that will rock and of course roll.
Dark Matter to me sounds like the best band in the world getting down and then getting down to work. I call this short, soaring, listening experience a 21st century masterpiece.
    in my humble opinion

    thanks gents!

Was cynical going in, nothing against recent albums which weren’t bad but his one I just connected with on a different level. Having seen 5 shows with another tomorrow I’ve gotten to know this album like a close friend both the studio versions and live. Not sure what I’m gonna do without any shows til Ohana. Guess I’ll be listening to boots and considering a potential Chicago trip.

For me it's been on repeat every day since release. It's absolutely joyous. I now live in a relatively normal/mundane South England suburb. I'm back at home in the mountains in North Wales for a week at the parents house, and tomorrow is the first "crank up to 11 and blast setting sun driving through the mountains" day.

    Ed gives us his all!
The lyrics answer questions, gives hope and captivates all my emotions.  The man sings exactly like Eddie Vedder!  Beautiful tones and notes that soar and whisper perfectly with the methodical drive of the music.
This record combines it all into 48 minutes.
Not a wasted moment, not one!
im so appreciative, did I say I love this record?
