    Silly Season!

Were those India(?) rumors ever legit? Those were definitely the days.

You know who's REALLY overlooked? Japan. Did they sit down for Taylor the way they sat down for Pearl Jam, or do the different demographics mean different things? I think we all know the answer.

Toronto in May seems to be very solid.

Other than that? It definitely seems to be moreso towards the speculation side... South America was a thing, then it appeared not to be...now is it again?

Kind of getting the feels of:

South America in March (could be Oct/Nov but seems too early for rumored dates for that)

NA beginning in mid/late April and into May.

New Orleans/Jazzfest being thrown around as well
  • PJ at 2025 Jazzfest is what I'm talking about! 🥑

I wouldn't be so sure of that when it comes to Jazzfest. Both Jazzfest shows they've played have been special in their own right. But the setlist from 2016, which is the last time they played jazzfest really stands out:

It Happened Today (R.E.M song, @ tape as band walked out after being introduced by Steve Gleason)
    1. State Of Love & Trust (this is the only time outside of ONE Lolla 92 show that State has opened a show)
    2. Arms Aloft (Joe Strummer cover. played twice that year, both at festivals, only played 17 times)
    3. Mind Your Manners
    4. God's Dice (dusted off for the first time in 28 shows)
    5. Setting Forth
    6. Corduroy
    7. Nothingman (ummm 2 vitaology bangers back to back, and imagine hearing Nothingman at like 5:30 in the afternoon as the suns going down)
    8. In Hiding (I mean come on? first time this tour after a 16 show absence)
    9. Even Flow
    10. Sirens
    11. Unthought Known
    12. Long Road (Mid-set Long Road request fulfillment from ed and the band, but holy cow how could you not love a sun-out Long Road at like 6pm)
    13. Daughter (no tag, but then going directly into the next song is a wild lineup of songs)
    14. Of The Earth (one of the last times it was played... my whole point in making this was you never know what you'll get when it comes to PJ setlists.)
    15. Last Exit (i mean are you not sold yet? Eddie and the band seemed to be very nostalgic for Vitalogy on the day)
    16. Porch

    17. Go
    18. Inside Job (Like WHAT?! but it's only a festival right?)
    19. Given To Fly
    20. Lightning Bolt
    21. Betterman (to round out the rest of the Vitalogy bangers, with a Save It For Later tag of course)
    22. Do The Evolution
    23. Alive

    24. The Real Me (being played for the first time in 31 shows, and with Big Sams Funky Nation on horns.... come on!)
    25. Rockin' In The Free World (with Chad Smith on drums)

Got Some and Garden were scratched for time from this set, and not swapped or replaced.

(and they still played more songs than they were averaging for this year  ;) )

Oh and for all those people who complained about the Dark Matter video wall behind the band, Jazzfest surely will not have it. So you'll have at least one Dark Matter show with no visuals, truly meaning they can play whatever they want.

For me there will be some dates in NA (maybe in Canada) in late spring, maybe with a residency in Seattle rather than Las Vegas. Then, I think there will be a South American tour in November 2025. Europe will follow in 2026, where the Dark Matter World Tour 2024/2026 will probably end.
This is just my opinion, based on the lack of solid rumors.

The New Orleans - Mardi Gras - Jazz & Heritage Festival - PJ35 special celebration combo kind of makes sense :pensive: Unless they want to celebrate this milestone where it all started

May is too early for that silly new 'Rogers Stadium' in Toronto, so that makes me happy.
It might be too early for Bud Stage, too, which makes me happy. Pearl Jam and SBA go together like a hand in a glove.

Now we're talkin!  I'm honestly confused as to why there isn't more talk about the potential PJ35 celebration.  Unless are we all assuming that every show in 2025 will be a special PJ35 celebration?  I was considering that they may only do one special PJ35 show, but the more the better!

Ed did mention something special possible for year 35.  I wonder if it would be a special PJ35 Benaroya Hall show?  That would be incredible.

Some good info being thrown out there on the Ohana weekend replay post on the Pearl Jam ten club members FB page.  Looks like NA shows in new cities and no residency seems like the most likely scenario for at least the beginning of next year.

    This thread?

So, no PJ25, no PJ30 (of course, CORONA, you know), and now PJ35.... I don't think so.

Wouldn't PJ35 technically be in 2026 and not 2025? PJ20 was at Alpine Valley and the documentary were both in 2011.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

based on that rumor a few weeks back (can't remember where it was posted) that the band has an open invite to Ohana every year I feel like that would be the PJ35 celebration if anything. do Friday/Sunday again, play a few deep cuts like they just did with Whale Song/Gremmie and have the setlist not be a traditional festival set + have a few special guests pop out.

I don't agree with this logic.  Of course no PJ25 or PJ30, that's because it's too frequent, and also there was no PJ10 and PJ15.
There was a PJ20, so logically you can apply a 20 year window, which would take us to PJ40.
But, the band has renewed energy, and is sounding better than ever as they enter year 35.
So, given their current energy, and new amazing album, then why not push it to PJ35?

For those that are anti-PJ35, or pessimistic, or whatever, then what do you think/hope that "something special for year 35" could be?

Your logic is correct, except PJ20 was really PJ21.  Ed wore a #34 shirt throughout 2024.

I always thought that PJ20 in 2011 was based off when TEN was released in 1991 and not their first show in 1990. But Ed was wearing the 34 jersey for pretty much every show this tour, so 2025 would be the 35th.

If 1991 was the first year, 2011 was the 21st year.

In order to verify that my PJ35 logic made sense for 2025, I researched PJ20 and found that the documentary was filmed in 2010, and so I figured that they considered 1990 the birth year of the band.  PJ20 was then released in 2011, and they kept the name PJ20 for the 2011 tour as well, likely to tie in to the documentary.

Optimism fully engaged for a PJ35 show.
