I am thinking you would normally expect EV to do something somewhere next year. I may be wrong but I think 2001/2 (with the exception of Covid in 2020) was the last time with no PJ or EV solo tour? I get the impression that something is done every year to keep the PJ/EV crew and 10c busy for the year.

maybe they're waiting to sell more ohana tix before they announce shows in the same state?
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
  • Since it’s the main tour thread, and it’s too dumb a question to make a separate thread, I’d thought I’d ask the crew here. Someone at work who knows I’m the pearl jam dude asked me why they never did Woodstock 94 or 99? And I honestly have no idea why – so many of their friends played on those festivals. Now of course ’99 was as disaster in retrospect with some truly terrible stories, but I always wondered how they didn’t play at the very least the ’94 version. Anyone know?

To put it back somewhat on thread integrity – I can really appreciate how the usual reliable sources are cautious with info. I had info in September 2024 about multiple shows in May 2025 that I was sworn to secrecy out of respect for their source, and it ended up not happening after all! I’m really hoping that a Canadian East Coast tour happens sooner rather than later - at least a QUE-OTT-MTL-TOR leg while Dark Matter is still relatively fresh 😊

They had so much fun and projected so much joy during the recent shows that I am optimistic for future music and tours.
I think we may see a year of solo project work,,,but I would bet on new PJ in 2027.
Absolutely grateful for all that I have experienced through the band and PJ family over the difficult last two years....bless you all for all of the gifts.

Woodstock 1994 - probably as simple as the band was not touring at that time.

Curious if you’re able to share now what was slated for May 2025?  There was noise of Toronto x2 but I’d love to know if anything else was lined up.

Yeah i'm sure you're right about 94, prob that simple haha. Well pretty sure this info was out in the open after the US 25 tour was announced by someone else - but the info was about multiple Montreal shows...which would have been amazing.

    July?
Are they trying to kill me with the anticipation?

It’s just a guess.  But they’ve announced October in July before.  The more notice they give the more they sell the new shows but it hurts sales of already announced shows that the various artists are involved in so they look to optimize the balance.  They are not concerned by our level of anticipation.

Ohana was announced on April 29th.  They will likely either wait for for the Friday to sell out or have a set period of time they'll wait to maximise the ticket sales - especially if other shows are in the same state or close by (Vegas for example).  EV tends to play smaller venues than PJ so they don't need as long to sell those tickets and Ohana will be the biggest capacity venue he's likely to play.  That said, some fans might be more willing to travel to Ohana if they can see another show in the same trip (my situation) and so announcing could actually boost Ohana sales - there's a tricky balance to be struck for sure.

As an aside but definitely related, the added uncertainty around the KoL being able to play Ohana on the Friday might cause some reluctance to some of the more casual locals who've seen Ed quite a few times over the years.

Ohana Encore (Oct. 1-2, 2021) was announced July 19, 2021.
But that was in the middle of covid. Special circumstances.

If history repeats itself, we'll hear more concrete rumors of cities and dates before any official announcement is made, so I can't imagine there's anything imminent.

I remember Neil Young saying he wasn’t gonna be part of that whole Woodstock ‘94 circus. And there were a few other comments that made it pretty clear Pearl Jam had been paying attention to what Neil was saying — like they took notes on why not to play that thing. And man, thank God they stayed out of it.
As for the '99 edition? Don't even get me started. Total trainwreck — straight-up disgusting on every level.
