What are the best closers from the studio albums? I would argue that the highlights of the latter catalogue come on the last song.

  1. Release
  2. Indifference
  3. River Cross
  4. Immortality
  5. Inside Job
  6. Around the Bend
  7. Setting Sun
  8. The End
  9. All Those Yesterdays
  10. All or None
  11. Parting Ways
  12. Future Days

Shouldn't there be an asterisk on Immortality? Sure, it is the last song we all listen to on Vitalogy, but it is not technically the album closer.

I count immortality. In this context it is the last song, even if it doesn't close the album. The first post says last song. Release also doesn’t close the album.

Indifference is my favourite. Closely followed by Release and Immortality. Setting Sun is up there.

Probably. I refuse to recognize heyfoxymophandlemama as the closer, since I never listen to it. LOL.

Release - not only the best closer but it is, was and always will be the best song ever record by human beings.
    Inside Job
    All Those Yesterdays
    Setting Sun
    Parting Ways
    River Cross
    Indifference
    Around the Bend
    All or None
    Future Days
    The End
    Stupid Mop

*If you are going to count Immortality as a closer it goes right above Setting Sun.*

    3. Inside Job
    4. Indifference
    5. Setting Sun
    6. All Those Yesterdays
    7. Release (similar to JimJam’s point. Amazing song, however could be placed elsewhere on album)
    8. The End
    9. Around the Bend
    10. River Cross
    11. All or None
    12. Future Days
    Boston '06
    Mansfield '08
    Hartford '10
    Worcester, Hartford '13

Maybe it's the "newness" of it all, but Setting Sun is SO GOOD as a closer. "Let us not fade..." gives me goosebumps. Might be #2 after Indifference for me.
