Dark Matter - Needed: Cassette!

agturneragturner Posts: 18
Hi, team!

I have an old pick-up truck that only has a cassette player.  Does anyone know where I can buy (or have someone make) a cassette tape of Dark Matter?  I’d love to play it in my car instead of over my phone.

I used to make PJ mixes as a kid but all that old equipment is long gone!

Thank you!!

That'd be pretty cool. I'd definitely go for this as well for my '93 ranger!  ;)

While we're at it, can I get an 8-track?

I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.

Apparently there will be a release of cassette - you just need to watch out for the smoke signal announcement

You need a stereo receiver, a record player, and a cassette player, and some of those red & white wires. You play the album on the record player and record on the cassette player. People used to do it all the time.

Or a CD to cassette recording device.  I think they have an extra at the Smithsonian.

You can also play the CD from your discman and plug it into your car using this handy cassette adapter. Only $7 at Target! Discmen can also be found at the Smithsonian.

I have a Sony boombox that I bought at Best Buy for relatively cheap that has a CD player and a tape deck. It comes in handy for outdoor use, too.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Great to know.  I had considered buying a cassette playing + recording device and just doing it myself, but maybe I will wait.

Wow, this discussion is a bit surreal.  Something that used to be so common is now difficult to accomplish. Someone must have a working boombox somewhere, or a stereo system with a working tape deck and cd player?

We've come a long way from when I had to listen to the radio all day waiting for a song and then hold my portable cassette player up to the speaker and hit record.

I haven't taped anything off the radio in about 24 years, but that doesn't mean I threw away my tape player. I still have tapes of all kinds of stuff that cannot be found anywhere else, and I've got to have a means of listening to them.

I totally would have bought a cassette copy of this album.  While vinyl is my preferred format, I have fond memories of listening to PJ on tape too.
    PJ Shows I have attended:

    October 12, 2013 Buffalo, NY
