This song rocks so hard.  I rank this one amongst the best in the whole catalog.  I can see this track fitting in on the Vitalogy album very nicely.

It’s got a touch of RATM ‘guerrilla radio‘ about it around the 3 minute mark, a bit slower than Rage, but similar.

It struck me this morning that this song actually kind of reminds me of "Go" a bit.  The intro, the gritty fuzzy bass, the fact that the verses are more spoken / rapped then sung, up-tempo, shredding solo, gets harder and crazier as it goes, ends powerfully.  Doesn't sound the same, but follows a similar formula.

    A little touch of The Who's Athena.  React/Respond... She's A girl/She's a bomb...React/Respond... She's A girl/She's a bomb...React/Respond... She's A girl/She's a bomb...React/Respond... She's A girl/She's a bomb...

Sorry, you can't unhear this.  BTW, I always thought it was She's A girl/She's a whore.  Until I read the lyrics.  So don't just complain about Ed's annunciation.

After saying all that, I totally am into React/Respond!  Great song.
Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river

Love the music but the lyrics are too repetitive.

Agree, definetely Whipping. I heard both songs back to back, it would be cool to hear it live.

Parts of the end of Setting Sun reminds me of the Who’s Naked Eye.

Remember in 2020 when the whole thing was about talking action and how "inaction is an action" and all that?

Don't go on the defensive, but be proactive.

    Don't react, respond.

    That's how I hear it.

My thoughts exactly. Might be a tough to pull off, musically and lyrically. It might be one that gets played every now and again. There’s another 7-8 instant live classics on here they can play instead. Having said that I’d love to hear it!! And Ed, just use lyrics if you have to because this song rocks!!!!

It's those driving drums, the soaring pre-chorus vocals + palm muted guitars, and the outro guitar solo shreds.  Hooks me every time.  This is a binge worthy track for sure.

I absolutely LOVE this one. I do think Ed is harnessing the count from Sesame Street during his “don’t react, respond” yells later in the song, but it doesn’t take away from this song just flat out rocking!  Even makes it a little endearing.

Listening to this today, it struck me that it might be about Trump. I haven't thought too deeply about it yet, but this was my first listen to the album with the full lyrics in front of me since the CD arrived today.

Really like Ed's cadence on the lyrics in the verses. Reminds me of that same kind of delivery he was doing on WES. He nails it and it keeps the song driving.
    It's a hopeless situation...
