Won’t Tell, Upper Hand, Waiting For Stevie

This three song run is stellar. Goosebumps throughout. By the solo in WFS I was laughing and on the verge of tears. That will blow the roof off of any venue and just to be sure it goes right into Running. Shut up and take my money! Stick a forklift in me, I’m done (I’m hefty :). Excuse me while I go pick my jaw up off the floor.

Agreed.  I said the same thing after listening last night.  These 3 songs stood out for me.

100% agree.  Made that comment too.  Upper Hand is so good.  It’s wild hearing them make WFS in 2024 bc it’s such a classic PJ song.  It’s like some times fans say that in a negative way, but screw that.  Most of us fell in love w this band bc of that sound.  They’ve evolved a ton, but it’s absolutely incredible what they did w this record.

I thought Upper Hand was amazing. I can envision that becoming one of my favorites (across any album).

Totally. Loved Upper Hand. Some strong rhythms on these songs and Eddie sounding great.
    It's a hopeless situation...

You can really hear the U2/Cure influence on "Won't Tell" that Stone has been talking about in his interviews.

This is a really good 3 song stretch. At first I wasn't a fan of the rumored visuals/screens at the live shows, but these 3 in order with some good visuals could be awesome.

The latter part of the song --> I'm hearing a lot of "Bad" in there.

I love this stretch of the album, but I don't get why are we capping it at 3 when WFS in to Running is absolutely amazing.  I can't help but to jam out in my seat when I hear WFS end and Running kicks in.  And Dark Matter in to Won't Tell is also spectacular.  So I think we should really be calling this a 5 song stretch.

I am enjoying Running much more now than I did I when I heard it as a single. I think because I am still on a high listening to Waiting for Stevie and this just smashes you in the face forcing you to take notice.

I thought the exact same thing the first time I heard it. Watch the version of Bad from Rattle and Hum film at the end where Edge jams. It’s extremely similar and I love it!
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.
