PJ/Bruce Double in Baltimore

mwplummwplum Posts: 1,529
Just thought I’d point this out (even though I’m sure many of you intrepid travellers have noticed already), that the PJ show set for Thursday Sept 12 precedes the final show of the US leg of Bruce’s tour (Sept 13, Camden Yards)! I’m prevented by young children and tightened finances, but hopefully many of you are able to make this epic weekend!!!

Good call. And if you are so inclined, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit are playing at Wolf Trap on September 11th. It's about an hour south of Baltimore in the DC burbs, but for those of us local to the area, it's three straight nights of great shows.

What do you reckon the chances are of the NFL season opening on 9/12 in Baltimore? Gotta be at least 25% I’d say. Could be a real clusterfuck if so.

I've been holding Bruce tickets for Camden Yards since last year.  I'm taking my two sons and we are in the second row of seats behind GA on the field.  I put in for Baltimore PJ tickets too... fingers crossed we can make this happen.

Have PIT for Bruce at Camden. I'm from that area and saw Bruce with my dad and sisters last year at the renovated CFG arena and CapOne in DC. They all want to go to Pearl Jam too lol.

25% seems high for a Ravens game that night unless I'm missing something. Excluding week 18 when there's no Thursday night game and Week 1 which we know will be in KC, each team plays one Thursday night game from weeks 2 through 17. Could be home or away. Unless there's a specific reason to think Baltimore will host the Thursday night game in week 2, I'd say it's more like a 3% chance. (1 in 16, divided by half for home/away). Maybe less since they had a home Thursday game last year and were away the previous year.

If it was a week 1 game I'd say it was a good chance.  Being week 2... I think you're breakdown is correct.  Possible but unlikely due to the odds.

My older son and I saw Bruce last April in Baltimore as well.  We also hit the Orioles home opener vs. Yankees before the concert.  Pretty good day even though the Yankees lost.
In a way I'm glad the show got moved.  I'm hoping Bruce shakes up the set list for the new tour this year and the chance to see a double header with Pearl Jam is worth the wait.

Ah, I had it as week 1 in my mind, and was thinking since they made the conference semis they had a good shot of hosting the opener (I didn't think it was automatically a home game for the defending champs but I could very well be wrong about that too).

The "Kickoff Game" has been hosted by the defending champs since 2004 with a couple of exceptions, one being 2013 when the defending champ Ravens opened at Denver due to a conflict with a previously scheduled Orioles game that night.

I've seen 100 shows and I'll not pay to see this latest tour of his... I choose to remember my 2017 Australian tour as epic.. nothing anymore is epic

3 days between Baltimore and Fenway N1. I’d bet Eddie will be making a guest appearance on stage with Bruce at Camden Yards. Makes too much sense.

I was fortunate enough to get Baltimore PJ tickets to pair with my Bruce tickets.  Let's play two!

Had tix for the original Bruce date in Baltimore last year and was going to see PJ next day in Indy. Both got postponed and it caused heartbreak for my father and I as we flew to each city for nothing. Now it works out perfect as we now have tix for both shows in Baltimore now!

Should indeed be an epic back-to-back nights

I'm going to see Bruce as well. Since I'll be in the area, I'm going to see how cheap I can get in on day of the show. Does anyone that's familiar with Baltimore know if the Lord Baltimore Hotel is safe to walk to the venue and back?

Is there a good 3D seating chart for Oriole Park?

Already seeing Bruce (for the 2nd time) at Citizens Park for the make-up show. The Jason Isbell/Pearl Jam back to back sounds tempting though!

This. Wolf Trap is an awesome venue too. They allow "tailgating" . You can't bring your booze/stuff to the seats, but can either take it back to the car before the show, or leave it on the side. Last time I was there I would walk to my cooler and grab a beer.
  • I'm amazed that one can get from Baltimore to Wolf Trap in an hour, because its a solid 90 minutes for me from NE DC. I hate that Isbell ONLY plays WT for his local shows. And always on a week night. Wolf Trap is a great venue, and the ability to bring your own food and booze is unparalleled, but its such a PITA to get there

I escaped the DMV 18 years ago.
Even then there was no way to get from Baltimore to Wolf Trap in an hour.
I'm sure today the only way is with zero traffic and exceeding 100 mph.
    Or by helicopter.
