Boston being the sure fire best bet on a great concert?

I have never been to Boston. I reckon I never will visit. I have heard Bill Burr joke with a Boston accent and Ben Affleck and Matt Damon act with one. But I will never see that city.

But,

it must be the city that has the top tier quality average of Pearl Jam concerts?

I understand some will say "but what about their MSG shows? The floor shook once", "What about the South America crowds?", "What about the Wuhlheide/Waldbühne double whammy?", "What about the city that I happened to see a show in, you have had to be there in the room it was magic like no other and can not be heard from bootlegs and Eddie himself said complimentary things". Whatever show and whatever city, they do not touch Boston.

Just listen to Boston 2010. It's the baseline of what a Pearl Jam setlist should be. Both regarding the amount of staples and the amount of odd songs and "fucking around". It's the most perfect setlist and show they have done. And it doesn't have my favorite songs on it. It's not about favorite songs. It's not about the amount of songs either. But objectively it's the golden ratio of pearl jams setlists.

This can not be argumented against if one truly in ones heart is a piece of jamily

Boston (one of my favorite cities in the US) is an awesome city with amazing crowds; you'd like it there.   lt has lots of history, good food, great bars and just a very cool atmosphere.  It's way more manageable than NYC, reminds me of Chicago in ways.  I say go for it.  I can't recall a bad pearl jam concert in Boston.

Great thread. Inject it into my veins.

The one night only 2010 show was incredible. Since that night, if you only saw every Mass show and never left the Commonwealth, you would have heard Undone, Fatal, Other Side, Strangest Tribe, Angel, and Out Of My Mind, plus seen some epic shows.

Boston, NY, Philly.  Hartford (Although less fun city to ve in than the others)
For US, these are the cities to select from.  Having been to Boston shows, they were lots of fun.
I happen to like Philly more than those other cities so that would be my choice but you can't go wrong --- they bring fire all around and the fans come from all over to equate to a good crowd.

Having been all around the US, I'd want to see them most in Argentina.  B.A.

lots of legendary Boston shows.  Who could forget the Boston Garden "Larry Bird" show where Ed came through the stage wearing basketball sneakers?  Or the time that the stage crew/roadies allegedly wrote the set list for the Orpheum show?  And, of course the Experiment in Mansfield, one of the most popular sets of shows in Pearl Jam history?  I can tell you that I went to all 4 of the Fenway shows and they were magical, too.  Been to Hartford 4 times, including my first ever Pearl Jam show in 1996 and that's always been magical, too.

Overhyped doesn’t necessarily mean the shows aren’t great. Philly 4 2009 (Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen!!) was the most overhyped show of all time but it was still amazing.

Spectrum night 3 was my favorite concert I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen many great PJ shows over the years, but that one is easily my favorite.

Only went to Boston 2018, both nights. Great shows! They didn’t top my list, but they were pretty awesome. Loved being on the field at Fenway. Out of My Mind and the alternate Immortality. Plus 3 Riot Act songs in one show! Unfortunately, they also teased Dirty Frank and then subbed in Dirty Water.

Boston is a great city. Highly recommend.

My one MSG show was the Live at the Garden show, and that was pretty epic.

Chicago is another great PJ show city.

On my list to tick off is Seattle and Philly!

Hartford draws diehards from Boston and NYC as well as a few from Philly. So you tend to get a crazy crowd.
    This weekend we rock Portland
