    HAPPY RELEASE DAY VS!
Weird thing - I'm seeing 10/19 and 10/12 as dates for Vs. original release - what gives?

Vinyl came out a week earlier than CD and cassette.

I remember it coming out on my birthday - 10/19. But I wasn’t buying vinyl back then so was only paying attention to the CD release.

That was Vitalogy. I am pretty sure there was no US pressing of VS until 1994.

they both were released before their CD/Cassette version. Vs. 1 week early in 93, and Vitalogy, 2 weeks early in 94. I believe Ten was pressed on vinyl for the first time in 1994. I think that dropped around the same time as Vitalogy. maybe a bit before.

    Fuck cynical cash-in color variants.
Nah. Keep albums in print and sell them any way you can. If it’s about variant collecting, people need to learn self control.

I have an amazing color variant: Black. A reminder that black vinyl is colored vinyl.

Also, nowadays used as a marketing tool too make people pay a few bucks more for the coloured version. Like e.g. with the latest Thåström release where the print run of the black/cheaper version was smaller than the more expensive colored version, but having them both in the store makes people pay for the more expensive but "less rare" one.

I get that. To each their own. I prefer color vinyl and a new variant is always fun.
