2023 Tour By The Numbers

This is my favorite thing to post after the end of every tour. A breakdown by album of every song played and how many times. We got 105 unique songs played this tour, which considering that last year in 33 shows was 124, I’d say we did pretty damn good.

Hi, I host a Pearl Jam Podcast. We go back to some of the classic shows in their history and break down the entire setlist front to back. From historic perspective, to performances, to setlist construction, to fan stories. We do our best to capture the magic that is their live act and help you relive those memories, or if you weren't there, maybe turn you on to a show you've never heard before.

Live On 4 Legs can be found on Apple Podcast, Spotify and any other major podcast platform. But please support our website and check out the episodes archived there. Oh, and the Concertpedia as well (for you Five Horizons and Two Feet Thick fans, we've picked up where they've left off)

Good stuff! This is a great spread of songs. Feels like each album gets a little at every show, and you don’t know what it’ll be!

    l love it!

  • Was looking for this, thanks. Binaural deserved a bit more love… Just a bit. Almost seems like they wrote off Backspacer and Lightning Bolt.

Great to see so many songs and so few repeats across the tour, albeit from a handful of shows.  Only Alive and Even Flow are the only "staple" tracks - pretty hard to get any song played more than three times!

amazing number of songs over only 8 shows.  haven't heard all the shows yet but how many weren't quality?  Was at Fort Worth 2 and thought all those came across great.  To do that many songs over a short period of time and still kill most of them is pretty damn impressive.  Every time I see this band I marvel at how damn good they still sound all these years later.  Can't wait for 2024 shows.  Philly x2 (if not more gotta get closer to Bruce  )

This omission is the one that stood out to me also.  Considering how many songs got played just once.  Surprised this didn't find its way onto one of the setlists.  I don't necessarily miss it!  just saying....

Yeah, not as much Vs. this tour. I did get Dissident in 2022. It was either Nashville or St. Louis.

There was some cool variety for sure i saw Austin 1 and 2 and got some good stuff hopefully they keep this format and then if you say see 3 to 4 shows for tour, you’re gonna get quite a few songs, I feel lucky to have got present tense out of my mind animal half full only one repeat, in Austin some pretty good stuff shows were pretty good I’m happy can’t wait for next year
  • This is great! Thanks for putting this together.

Those stats are really cool… thanks for posting. That’s a great spread of songs by the band and even though shows are shorter the setlist variety is really appreciated.

I didn’t see any shows this tour but I did some searching on the PJ Stat Tracker app.  Out of the 105 unique songs played this tour the only one I haven’t seen yet was Undone.

  • Great post!! Thanks for the legwork!

  • I went into this tour thinking one show was enough based on the 2021/2022 shows.  If not going with friends I would have backed out of Austin, but I saw three shows and was ready for more.  The anticipation that they could play anything was back.  Appreciated that they changed up the songs as much as they did. They don't have to play Undone or Out of My Mind, but knowing that Who You Are or Thumbing My Way are still on their minds is nice.
  • Love the wide distribution of songs. If this tour was twice as long, I bet would would have seen most of the catalog played. Hopefully this trend continues.

Also, I've never been down on them doing covers, but this tour proves they could pull out any of their originals and make people extremely happy. They can probably phase out the covers if they want to keep going deep on their own catalog.

Nice spread, and thanks for putting the thread together.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

  • Has anyone counted up how many songs were played once and once only on the 8 show tour?

I counted 52 original PJ songs as being played only once per the live footsteps tracker.
    It's a hopeless situation...

    Thanks.  That’s insane!

Release, Immorality, In Hiding, I Am Mine - all were among those single plays I believe.

Yep, Insignificance, LBC, NAIS, and I am Mine were some of the biggest highlights of the St Paul shows for me.
