I’d really enjoy an intense version of Even Flow.
To quote the 10C from Newsletter #8: "Please understand we have a lot of members and it is very hard to please everybody. If you are one of those unhappy people...please call 1-900-IDN-TCAR."

  • I'm genuinely impressed with the poster's ability to poll the entire Austin crowd days before the show to come up with the consensus that no one wants "the hits", including all the people going to their first show.  That's good work.

    We don't want the hits!

    Break out some rarities.

We don't need Black, Alive, RVM to close the first set.  Corduroy is boring. Same with given to fly and small town.

Play the good stuff!  Make this a show for fans to talk about for years to come!
Boy, you sound like a real treat.

I guess most of us are just thankful to still be doing this in 2023.  The band has WAY, WAY exceeded my greatest expectations and I'm thankful for every moment in a live setting. Play all the hits as far as im concerned.

Would Ole be considered a rarity? 😂 Also change your post to Message from Austin FAN. Don’t lump the rest of us into your nonsense.

  • I used to think somewhat along these lines. It can happen when you've been to a few shows and heard these songs every time. But the more I met people going to their first show (in some cases dragged along by their PJ-crazy friend / partner) or regulars for whom one of these songs means something important, and the more you see the crowd perk up when these songs get started, it changed my perspective entirely. There's room enough in the setlist for everyone, and this tour has been testament to that.

I used to complain about the Tragically Hip playing too many singles and not enough rarities. I would give my remaining kidney to be able to see the Hip play the most boring setlist imaginable just one more time.
I used to do the same. I was fortunate enough to see them a ton from 1992 until and including the final concert.  Looking back now, I should have appreciated the ride more than I did.

They are the (or at least my) textbook example of enjoying every show you are fortunate enough to see because you never know when the ride will end.  I can only hope Pearl Jam is fortunate enough to land the balloon with a final blowout series of shows in Seattle when it is time to say goodnight and goodbye.

    Basically anything I didn't mention

Also I'm messing around. I'll have fun either way but definitely enjoy the less popular songs a lot more!

I’m still waiting for an all Even Flow show.
25 x Even Flow on the setlist.

Stop playing all the hits, just one. A lot.
