I disagree on the above. The Ames posters hit a couple bullseyes: a very distinct piece of 80s/90s nostalgia and the band members depicted. Plus a Chicago show. I rarely get prints from shows I don't attend but was immediately like "I gotta have one of those."

With the way the poster market has gone over the last 12 months, once the hype of this poster and tour dies down, I sense these AP's will not be too easy to sell at the prices people are expecting. Ames have priced them pretty close to the market value I sense they'll have in the longer term. I really do not think the flippers/speculators will win big on these in the more medium term so I guess anyone buying with that intention really needs to offload them sharpish
This.  And tbh a lot of this merch.

I agree with you Paul. I missed the AP yesterday. Just looking at the Bay, there are literally hundreds of Chicago posters on there. I think so many have been printed they will soon be at cost within 6 months. Saw that with last year’s prints as well (and they’ve seemed to have printed more of the Chicago ones than they did for the US shows last year). People just need to hold tight and not pay flipper prices.

  • Yeah, my gut feeling is the same.  I'm waiting for the sale on the PJ website and then when the dust settles on that and if I still feel like I need one, hopefully secondary will be just about at par with retail.
  • Would anyone in the merch line be able to grab me an XL hot dog t-shirt and I'll buy your poster? Thanks in advance!
or you can come to terms and realize
you're the only one who can forgive yourself oh yeah...

I have an extra XL Ames band shirt that I bought by accident. I’ll sell at cost if anyone is interested and in Chi. Can also bring to Austin.

I cant help but think how many stacks amongst stacks amongst stacks of the Beth poster will go unsold.

Again, it was a nice gesture by the artist, but nobody outside of her friends and family are buying that poster.

Seems like a waste of paper and ink to me...

At what point does the artist just decide to start giving those posters away? I sure as shit know that I'm not getting suckered into the next Pearl Jam mystery box promotion, cause we all know where the leftovers of these posters are going... LOL.

The merch is so bad this tour they are going to need another tour just to negate losses on unsold merch or airlift it to countries in need. Certainly mystery box is unappealing thru 4 shows of merch.

Maybe he'll do 300 APs like some have advocated!  Surprised there are still any left unless he's doing a bunch.  Clearly it was better than STP1 but not sure I'm ready to pay $120 for it even though I try to get poster for every show I attended.

How fast is that merch line moving today, and are there still posters left?

  • Bizarre that there is 12.2% tax and $26 shipping for the STP2 poster.  I'm in Chicago which has terrible sales tax at 10% but I'm not sure how he gets to 12%.

Tons of the Chicago posters on eBay. Hopefully that means the prices will come back down to reasonable levels.

@Vedd Hedd merch line was moving quickly today and there were still posters as of 1:00. Duffel bags and basketballs sold out at the indoor stand, unless they’ve since replenished

His shop is on Bigcartel, and I think Bigcartel calculates shipping into the price taxed.

Some companies charge taxes based on the total price including shipping.
The sales tax is always based on recipients delivery zip code

What if every Ten Club Member and Ticketmaster purchaser got a secure email and they had to (I don't know) submit their seats and they could purchase two t shirts, two posters or whatever the hell they wanted. The merch would be sent via mail and there would never be a line ever again. Supply equaling demand!

They would make a lot less money. They WANT you standing in line for hours, so that when you get to the front you're compelled to buy even more to justify it. They really don't lose much on excess supply, these things are cheap to produce.

Yes. This has been beaten to death. The hours you spend in line generate more impulse buys. 10 club and Pearl Jam are doing exactly what they want. I don’t understand how it’s such a difficult concept to grasp at times.
