PJ in St. Paul already?

Jeff posted an image tonight on IG with the location as St. Paul, MN.  Seems early for PJ to arrive 10 days prior to the first show of a tour.  Is there another reason to arrive now?  Getting together for new material?

First of all, great user name!

They may simply need some rehearsal time.  It is 10 days until opening night.  I recall for the 2020 tour which of course was ultimately postponed they were already in Albany or something on March 9 when they called it off, with opening night in Toronto scheduled 9 days later.

  • Fair, I figured they’d prefer to practice at their Seattle space, then arrive just before the first show. But I guess being away from home allows for fewer distractions. I liked the thought of them recording - haha.
thanks - I’ve had that handle for years, just never post.

Maybe they're at Pachyderm Studios practicing and getting some work done?

  • Some venues have a large practice space with their actual stage. This happens a lot in Nashville at Bridgestone

Considering they play together very little, 10 days is needed! It’s a great sign for the tour.

  • Simon can’t arrive until 8/28. I’m guessing they have another tech but would think Ed would need him for a bunch of practice.

There are no events at Xcel prior to the PJ shows; they may have the whole place to themselves until next THUR

In 2013 when the tour kicked off in Pittsburgh, at least some of the band got into town (aka tahn for the yinzers) a few days earlier.  The Minnesota State Fair begins tomorrow, too, so it makes sense some of the guys may want to show up early  =).

  • Brandi C playin the fair few days before 1st pj show. When Brandi played ohana she had a few guest players join her. Hmmmmmmmm
  • So is it just Jeff jamming out by himself in an empty Xcel Energy Center?  Getting pumped for these shows in a week and hope they're all practicing up to be firing on all cylinders for a special run of shows.

I like to imagine they are doing research on their three night stand at Target Field summer of 2024 or their 'All Minnesota Tour 2024'.

    Minneapolis
    St. Paul
    Rochester
    Duluth
    St. Cloud
    Hibbing
    Moorhead
    Red Wing
    Stillwater
    International Falls

Ten club show at Isle Royale National Park.
