Scott Henderson
If you don't know who he is you need to look him up (he's one of the best guitar players alive).
Scott's got a little trio consisting of Himself on Guitar, Victor Wooten on Bass, and Steve Smith on Drums.
If you don't know who Vistor Wooten is you need to leave the forum now and quit playing music.
Steve Smith - formerly of Journey, and one bad-ass drummer.
This is what I call a power trio.

Love Scott Henderson. I have his DVD Jazz Rock Mastery and it's a really good instructional tool for guitarists wanting to advance their improv skills.

Jaco Pastorious - Bass Player, can't remember the band
At the peak of Jaco's career he toured with many bands (most notably):
Weather Report, Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock and Blood, Sweat and Tears.
Since being beaten to death in 1987, Jaco's son Felix has taken the bass reigns.
I knew Felix when he lived in Fort Lauderdale - he's a very good bassist.
Felix takes lessons with Victor Wooten - you need to add Felix to the list.
He's also lucky enough to have double jointed thumbs like his father.

Big Time. +1. Heck John McVie too from a certain perspective, but yes, definately Buckingham.
Phil Rudd didnt even know how to play drums when he joined the band and he has probably the most simple drum lines in history.
Larry Lalonde of primus is one of the most underrated guitarists ever IMO - he gets overlooked because of the incredibly unique style.
Other underrated guitarists are Frank Zappa (an amazing all around musician), Jerry Garcia, and Alex Lifeson of Rush.
Mike Bordin of faith no more/Ozzy is the most underrated drummer i think.

Hes got talent , and I like his originality in his guitarwork ...
