Uncle Neil's Coastal Tour

I haven't seen this discussed here, so apologies if it has already been covered. Neil Young is doing a tour of venues up and down the west coast, and he has said he'll be playing songs he hasn't played often live. So far, he has opened every show with "I'm the Ocean," and he has played either "Song X" or "Throw Your Hatred Down" (including both of them once) at every show but one.

Obscurities are in the eye of the beholder. As a person whose favorite bands are Pearl Jam and Wilco, I feel like he's playing the hits. (In addition to the Mirror Ball songs, he's playing Buffalo Springfield's "Burned," which Wilco covered a long time ago.)

Anyway, I'm seeing him tomorrow night at the Greek in L.A. and will say hello from everyone.
I gather speed from you fucking with me.

Can Pearl Jam play Merkinball songs? Technically, they're Neil Young songs, so I'd imagine they could be covered.

Why is this not a thing?

What do you mean? Pearl Jam has played the two songs from Merkinball many times. Did you mean to say Mirror Ball? Pearl Jam played "Throw Your Hatred Down" a few times in 2022.

Thanks for posting about this tour.  I had no idea it was happening and will actually be in the Bay Area this weekend.  Anyone have a Saturday extra?

I saw the show at the 1,200 capacity Ford Theatre in Los Angeles.  My wife is a bigger fan, but I enjoyed the show.

I also saw him last week at the Ford, close and personal. VERY enjoyable. I may try for tonight if I can find a good seat for a PJ kind of price...
The sets are substantially the same, but I'd love to hear I'm the Ocean, again.

Tonight's show featured all three Mirror Ball tracks for only the second time.

I didn't get to the Greek (unfortunately), but saw some of it on youtube. It seemed to be more put together and seamless than the Ford show I attended. (I was a little worried there, that Neil might not be totally well).

I enjoyed the intimate nature of this show (esp from my 3rd rw spot). Watching the organic expression of the music flowing through Neil's entire being - it doesn't get more authentic than that. I was glad I did not miss this.

Saw the show last night in LA and going to the show tomorrow in Berkeley. Imagine Ed when he is 70 something doing rarities. It would be awesome
