Also appears you joined in 2006. That’s 17 years, not 27. Sorry for your loss.
I think he/she is just being funny now that you say he’s been around since 06.

Read it, still think it means what I thought it meant before. It's supposed to verify you're a fan in general, not necessarily a fan of the specific artist. It's supposed to try to weed out the resellers and bots. Now, I have no idea if it's actually any good at doing that, but I doubt it. They most likely just want it to look like they're trying.

Sadly some have thought all along that verified = hard core fan.. they are the ones most upset. But the system sucks big time and we all had better chances with the old first come first served system.

We did, but that was also a different period in time.   It got harder and harder as time went on.   Those first few years of internet sales were glorious.  The masses and do it yourself scalpers hadn't figured out the internet yet.  Those first few years we got amazing tickets to almost everything because most people were still waiting in line or in phone queues.

But it got worse over time.   More people figure it out.  Then do it yourself scalpers figured it out.  You get to the end of the 10's and the website traffic generated by onsales gets crazy.    TM had tried stuff like using captcha, random queues, and now verified fan with random queues to deal with the traffic (and maybe to address the scalpers).

So yah, first come first serve was absolutely better back in the day, but I don't think it would hold up well now.  Too many people and scalpers fighting for too few tickets.

    Yeah, that's the unfortunate truth.
