The way I see it, this is how the 10C ticket lottery works:
1) lottery is done on a show-by-show basis
2) anyone who put in for GA for show #1 is randomly selected from the pool
3) priority increases your chance of being selected (maybe a 1.1 to 2x multiplier, but who knows; either way, while it increases your chances it doesn't guarantee anything)
4) rinse and repeat for shows #2-9
5) rinse and repeat for reserved seating for shows #1-9
Does that make sense?
This process would be a simple way to run the lottery on a show-by-show basis, and would explain how some people might get multiple shows, while others get none, regardless of priority.
Just my 0.2 cents.0 -

Is it possible that ticket brokers in Chicago maintain a bunch of inexpensive tenclub memberships. Then resell the FanClub tickets they purchase not caring if the membership is cancelled. They can always buy more memberships. Does Ticketmaster of 10club really enforce selling the tickets. Maybe many more tenclub broker members are getting in our way0

I'm not overthinking anything. This is not the way the past "lotteries" have gone. Simple as that. I'm fine. I'll be in the building for the shows I wanted to get into. I just think that the lack of clarity on whatever changes were implemented this year is unfortunate, and a lot of people are getting the short end of the stick.BV84003 said:
That happens because this is a lottery system. That's what a lottery is. Luck. Some of us won't get chosen at all for one show. Others will win everything they put in for. I really think a lot of y'all are overthinking tf out of this.bbiggs said:
I respectfully disagree. Please try to explain logically how someone that put Chicago as his or her 3rd, 4th or 5th priority, regardless of what his or her 1st and 2nd priority were, would get selected for Chicago tickets over someone that put in a total of two requests, both of which were Chicago, and received zero tickets.machinehum said:Again: nobody here knows how the process is actually happening. Some people have a very strong opinion on how it "should" be happening, and to that, I'll just paste this again:For the people who think the "only reasonable" way to do it is to pull from priority 1 for a city, then if there's any left, pull from priority 2, etc. Consider these two people's preference sets in order:Person A: Austin, St. Paul, NoblesvillePerson B: Chicago, Austin, St. Paul, Noblesville.
If Chicago has high demand and Person B does not get it, and Austin, St. Paul, and Noblesville all have enough seats for pretty much everyone in priority 1 and not much else, it's entirely likely that Person A gets all three of their picks, while Person B gets zero because they put Chicago first, maybe because they live in Chicago and would prefer not to travel if possible. Who knows. Personally, I find that an extraordinarily unfair system. I'm not saying a system with some other outcome is necessarily better, but I'm saying this "obvious" "only reasonable" system is not at all that.

seems like there was an overwhelming demand for CHI,IND,MN and not as much for the TX shows. could be wrong, of course, but based on seeing people here and on FB that got tix, a lot of TX people got everything they put in for with a few minor exception.0

Bingo. This is the point that the contrarians are missing.

That was my thinking - those people that didn't want GA, choose Reserved only, those who were ok with "GA or reserved" just choose that option. Odds stayed the same to get a ticket....solace said:
I get that, but what is the difference between the Reserved part of GA or Reserved and Reserved Only?EvilClosetMonkey said:TEN CLUB TICKET OPTIONS
In order to increase your chance of getting tickets, please select all of the seat preferences you would be willing to accept.
Logically by choosing only GA Or Reserved you’re accepting that you’re ok with either ticket type?2000 - Toronto

it is interesting how all these F2F non-transferable tours always do go through NY, IL and/or CO to ensure there are at least some scalpable shows...jerparker20 said:

I'd guarantee this is happening. Also have to consider that TM gets an allottment of tix. They turn around and put those up for resale immediately. Same for the venue, promoter etc etc. Lots of bands do this too with their family + friends tickets. TM isn't enforcing it. They want this to happen.redbirddave said:Is it possible that ticket brokers in Chicago maintain a bunch of inexpensive tenclub memberships. First show listing, Chicao N1, first page of listings, all row 17 of the several sections furthest from the stage. These sellers don't actually have these tickets, they will eventually have tickets and will then "upgrade" their Stubhub buyer to whatever tickets they were able to come up with.CosmoCramer said:

The next part is not directed at anyone in particular
If this was all true. If priority does not really matter like we are saying it is then why are we not seeing any 3rd/4th/5th/9th priorities winning GA? Its not happening.
Its not happening because when they draw GA they start with, now wait for it, first priorities!!!! Say it with me... First Priorities!!!
Same goes for reserved. Every lotto I have done this is how they did it. We have people here that go over this stuff with a fine tooth comb. We over analyze this stuff we scrutinize it. Years and years of this. When something is off we know its off and this lotto is very much off.

Maybe, but I haven't heard anything about anybody getting 300 level or behind stage at UC. Similarly, no one is reporting lawn tickets at Ruoff. It tells me that the lottery is far from being done.jpgoegel said:seems like there was an overwhelming demand for CHI,IND,MN and not as much for the TX shows. could be wrong, of course, but based on seeing people here and on FB that got tix, a lot of TX people got everything they put in for with a few minor exception.0 -

These are very good points that should be stressed. While it made it a little tougher for the concert goer, I’d take that over the trade off of many less 10c tickets being sold secondary.jerparker20 said:
