Re: Atlanta shows. Maybe this is weird and probably way off base. But I've always kind of wondered if they skipped ATL because it isn't "progressive" enough. Greenville and Nashville are, but always wondered if Atlanta came off as too "red." Just a stupid conspiracy theory, I know.
I've heard this before, but I have a hard time believing it. Atlanta is no different than most blue islands in red states and, considering the results of 2020 and 2022, they still seem to be avoiding the city.
Wouldn't Indy be skipped then too?

46 year Gwinnett resident. Gwinnett is getting super purple. It is not red like it used to be. Probably has more to do with festivals like Midtown and Bonnaroo giving a bigger payout and forcing no play in nearby cities?

Chicago was tough like that..........hard to get good smaller to mid size bands in summer because of Lollapalooza restrictions.

Hey. I'm going to see Ringo Deathstarr tonight at the Masquerade. I have a free extra ticket if someone would like to go. Just PM me. I would love for it to go to a fellow 10 clubber.

I just hope they don't play Lakewood when they return.  I'd still definitely go but it's my least favorite venue in our area.  Horrible traffic getting in and out and the area around it is awful.
Isn’t there a prison across the street too?

Hmm, not sure about that. Could be. I was there last fall, but you can enter from two directions. Traffic in and out can be brutal. Radiohead for the In Rainbows tour was a mess!
  • Ringo Deathstarr sounds fun. Hope someone takes you up on it.

Hopefully, we see Pearl Jam on this marquee next year.

Nice big US Penitentiary. Looks like it’s straight out of a movie.

I always wonder if they can hear the shows lol

The Fox! That would be amazing, and a tough ticket to get! Lower level tickets in the back are so far from the stage though. Front rows of the balcony pretty good though!

Last concert I saw there was Soundgarden, one of their last shows.

Was at that Soundgarden show as well. Great show. Hard to believe we lost Chris shortly after.

Okay, Pearl Jam! New Atlanta memory!

2003, Lakewood Amphitheater: This is post Bu$hleaguer troubles in upstate New York.

Ed notices during Porch that some interesting characters are in the crowd. So he invites up his friends George W., George W., George W., and his other friend George W. to see if he can get some support from the president. 4 dudes in George W masks all come on stage to hold up Ed while he lays on his back to sing out the last chorus of Porch! Pretty awesome! And no boos regarding the W masks and witty comments from Ed!

Also, Ed makes an awesome plea for more funding for teachers. LOVE IT!

Come on boys, come back in 2024!

Same show where Mike flubbed the opening lick in "Alive" and had to start over. Right? I also remember the weather and pre-game tailgate scene were incredible. So much so that the rest of my crew found me sleeping on the hood of the car after the show. Not my finest moment.
