what a failed rebranding that was. Stupid from the beginning. "hey, let's take the most recognizable part of our brand and...stay with me...GET RID OF IT!".Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

I agree, it was terrible. HBO had a great brand. Cinemax is what you watched when you were 12 and stayed up really late.HughFreakingDillon said:what a failed rebranding that was. Netflix is about to acquire Warner Bros.I miss igotid880

we'll see if it gets approved. kinda reeks of that whole monopoly thing.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

It does, but when have we known the U.S. government to be really concerned with this? Seems like capitalism says more, more, more.
I’d be worried about all those WB movies not being in cinemas. Also, does that mean they will own DC Comics publishing? As a comic fan, not sure how I feel about that. And what happens to HBO?0 -
man, Veep is such a great show. I know I'm about a decade late to the party, but it's such a good show. Great mix of absurdity politics and biting sarcasm.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

Just as they added the HBO back in its name. Now they're being sold and won't be around once the deal goes through. I don't understand how Warner Bros always has to be sold or merged almost every time? Are they not good at making profits or something?I miss igotid880

The name HBOMax was grody to the max. I imagine if the same people responsible for creating that name were also in charge of creating profits for WB, yeah, I can see how they didn't make any money. They probably spent close to a billion dollars in that name change that confused just about every consumer. Well played.I would not be surprised if the same ad agency that came up with UPS's slogan of "What Can Brown Do For You?' were involved. The movie theaters are probably breathing a sigh of relief. Netflix taking over would have been the official funeral bell toll.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

HBOMAX was the first streaming name. Not counting HBO GO. Then they changed it to MAX. Taking out a well known brand name. Then reverted back to HBOMAX. But Warner Bros has had a lot of merger/acquisitions. From Time Inc, Turner, AOL, and AT&T.Jason P said:The name HBOMax was grody to the max. It's absolutely fantastic! I LOVE that show. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -

I worked for a large company once that shortened their name to the soup de jour 3 letter acronym ... there is a lot of money involved and everyone loses time and focus on the entire management side for about a year for a problem that shouldn't exist. And we didn't have to worry about being a consumer product like HBO.I always marveled when Cingular Wireless was bought by AT&T and then just vanished ... I bet they spent a billion dollars on ads drilling Cingular into our brains (especially during March Madness).Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0
