And if you act now within the next 10 minutes, we’ll send you this protective blanket with aluminum and copper threads woven into it to capture the healing energy of the sun! But that’s not all! We’ll throw in this handy foil lined canvas pouch that you can bake a potato in, using only the energy from the solar flare! Perfect for the survivalist in your family! But wait, there’s more! We’ll throw in two foil lined canvas pouches, that’s right two, and this solar flare powered buck knife that opens automatically at the touch of first light! Act now! You get the glasses, the healing blanket, not one but two potato pouches AND the buck knife for $39.99! That’s one low price of $39.99! Operators are standing by or send a self addressed stamped envelope with $26.99 postage and a money order for $39.99 to Mar-I-Lieo. You’ll be glad you did!

5 bonus points to whoever can come up with the best conspiracy theory with this.

I'm sure we'll get some good ones, LOL.  What I'm wondering is, why when I Google "coronal hole/ news", the articles that come up with are from the following:
    New York Post
    NDTV
Mezha Media (never even heard of them)
    News.com.au
    Sky News
    Global News
    Business Insider...

...and then finally NASA with an article unrelated to this specific event, nothing from AP or any other major U.S. news outlet.

    What gives?

The media doesn't like science, and probably thinks it's another northern lights story?

I still have not yet seen the northern lights...  maybe this is the time I stay up late and see them.  Any time I've tried it's been a fail.

Haha!  Someone somewhere is surely going to profit off this, lol.

On the other hand, what if a Carrington event really does happen Friday, or next week, or next year, or whatever?  Things could get interesting.

    So far so good, lol.
The only whisper I heard about this (I assume it was related) is that it was supposedly going to maybe be possible to see the Norther Lights in the sky over Vancouver last night. I didn't see anything. :(

Was hoping for the same, got nada.
It did seem rather bright outside this morning.  Oh, but then, that's not an unusual reaction to a sunny morning for bleary eyed me,  lol.
