And now I am left with this.

And its pretty cool how the corners basically can take care of themselves once the card is soaked and left alone for an hour or 2 before the use of shammies to dry. I mostly only have to do minor tool work.
Because you cant add paint. And you cant add cardboard. If someone can show me how to take a rounded corner and make it straight again? Im all ears. Haha
But again I'll do minor work on corners but I have learned in a short time not to go overboard.Take me piece by piece.....

As much as I would love to fix these 2 bottom corners? There is nothing I can do.
Cracked paint is cracked paint.

And honestly on 90% of the cards? When the card is about 75% dry? That is when I will gently work on the corners by only using my index finger going around the entire card. And I mean gently! Haha
I have found out, for me anyway, I trust just my finger over holding a tool and pressing against all 4 sides and corners. One slip and I scratch a somewhat wet card, and its forever fucked.
Im new at this. Very new at this.
But I can improve the cards. And that's all im looking for. Not gonna make hundreds of dollars on each card. But I'll make em better.Post edited by SPEEDY MCCREADY onTake me piece by piece.....

Soaking wet.
And everything kind of takes care of itself without tools. Dents fill up with moisture and take care of themselves. Same with small creases. I find it super amazing how the entire card
fills with moisture and after 50 years it sits back to its original shape Take me piece by piece.....

That Gary Carter is gorgeous. I was going to ask about that. The corners are usually a lost cause. What you can fix are dents and such.SPEEDY MCCREADY said:Soaking wet.

I know people looking for creased cards to fix!
Keep at it. I love it.0 -
And this is what you do to a 63 Billy Williams when you try to give it a simple cleaning and spray pure isopropyl on it by mistake.

Took the bottle of isopropyl instead of the isopropyl/distilled water mix. Sprayed it directly on card and grabbed my little foam cleaning tool.
The ink instantly dripped off the card.

76 is the 1st year I can remember opening 100s of packs. Think they were $0.25. I must have had a dozen Hank Aaron cards. It was as if they were in every other pack. Plus the rookie Fred Lynn and Jim Rice. Dozens of them.Take me piece by piece.....

I have scrubbed, buffed, cleaned etc. But so

me stains and blemishes just won't come out. Others disappear instantly.
These are not coming out.Take me piece by piece.....

Very nice what you're doing speedy. I do not collect cards, but wondering if the autographs on the cards shown are printed or really signed.
Nice way to preserve/restore pieces of history.0 -

I once read that if you are old and life is getting boring? Then do something you enjoyed to do as a child.
So here I am playing with baseball cards. Haha
Also, I moved to Disneyworld.
I think I may have taken that advice a little too serious. Haha

Go to Kurts website and shop his products. He also directs you to where he purchases everything on Amazon. For maybe $50 you can have everything you need.
And just go for it.
The VERY 1st card I worked on was a rookie Walter Payton! Haha
Just give whatever cards you want to work on a semi soak and let soak then dry. Amazing how much you can fix by not doing a damned thing but soaking and drying.
But if you want send me a message.
Ill give ya my address.Take me piece by piece.....
