    just read a funny article in the Athletic about a guy who paid $12k for a Jay Cutler card.

    Mr Wonderful pooled money together with 2 other people to buy the Kobe Jordan auto logoman.  Now its a super rare card that most of us would never own anyways.

    So the whales are coming in with piles of cash and buying up rare cards as assets and expanding their portfolio.

    So If you hit something rare good for you.  You can get a truckload for it.

    I have been busy lately with acquiring.... Pokemon cards!

    There is such a demand for them its crazy.

    Crazy Ohtani market going on right now. Prices have doubled in the last month. 

    Jordan inserts are climbing again. 

    Pokemon cards are off the chain. 

    There are people with money only looking to flip cards. I’m seeing fewer and fewer collectors now.

    I learned a lot so far. There are Proxys now.  It's a nice way of calling it a fake card.  They also have done fan made gold foil cards.  Purple border cards.

    Big one is trying to pass off an expensive holo card that has the wrong holo pattern or none at all...

    You can read up on other peoples experiences with grading.  The stories are the same.

    So the Topps now cards usually grade really well.  I sent in 10 Ohtani RC's and all came back 10's. The QC on them is pretty top notch so I am surprised you got 8's.

    Did you look at them through a loop?

    More PSA shenanigans.  Their parent company "Collector" bought out BGS grading/Beckett.

    Also on the list of shenanigans and hooliganism is Goldin owner Ken Goldin, having PSA withhold a grade for a card from the population counts so he could hide the card for a big reveal.

    Definitely shady stuff going on.

    I like watching Goldin’s show on Netflix because of the sports card/memorabilia content but he is so pompous and annoying on that show.

    I like watching Goldin’s show on Netflix because of the sports card/memorabilia content but he is so pompous and annoying on that show.  
    All the "big players" are Look At Me types now.  Gary Vee, Goldin, ANY of the breakers and other influencers, Michael Rubin, Nat Turner, Pacman.  List goes on and on and on.

    It's all about the gram now.  Gotta have those big cards and show em off.  Dont matter about the little fella that got hosed on a $1000 hobby box.

    Oh and don't get me started on planting kids pulling cards either.  Sure youre 8yo pulled a monster.  When he asks how much rather than liking a cool card you know we have a problem.

    Michael Rubin is the devil when it comes to cards and sports merch.  His social media is so sad.  Looks like a guy who had no friends as a kid and now trying to overcompensate by flexing and hanging out with athletes and rappers.
