So… did they do it purposely or did someone grab the wrong version of release for the Atmos mix?
I would bet that we will never know. This band has turned into a weird, secretive, communication-less band.
Very true. I’m guessing if it quietly gets swapped out we know it wasn’t intentional. But like you said… they wouldn’t tell us that.
Putting an incorrect version of Who You Are on No Code never got acknowledged or corrected(?). Maybe that will be corrected for the 30 year 45 rpm vinyl version.

Atmos is a surround sound format. They mix film sound so that it comes from all around you in a theater. Atmos is the newest Dolby format and there's a huge push to mix a bunch of music in Atmos. Pearl Jam has so far released Ten, No Code, Yield and Gigaton in surround formats.

Thanks for the info. Do you need a 5 point stereo system to hear it, or can you hear it in headphones, or even a standard 2 speaker setup?
Generally to hear Atmos, you need a certified Atmos receiver (with compatible sourcing devices - AppleTV, DVD player - generally Blu-ray or up) and the either 5.1, 6.1, or 7.1 surround speaker setup with another 2-4 overhead speakers. Atmos features what is termed overhead channels to distinguish itself from prior surround systems (think rain sounds in movies where the scene’s action is in such weather). Worth noting that the overhead channels are not a primary sound source, those are generally your front speakers and subwoofer. I think of Atmos like a sound bubble (half sphere)…you are circled and covered by speakers. I’m sure there are other ways to configure, but true Atmos has the overhead sound aspect. Easiest way may be iPhone with AirPod Pros and an Atmos track/album - the AirPods mimic the surround effects - so that is close to a two speaker type setup but these are specialized speakers in this case to decode the intended spacial effects. Also, there are surround systems that use surround speakers to reflect/bounce sounds off the ceiling without the need for actual overhead speakers. Sorry, I’m not an Android user, so no clue for that environment. Headphones would need the spacial ability similar to AirPod Pros…so possible, just not a likely feature for many commercially available headphones. Look for Atmos certified/capable ones, if you want to go that route.
To recap, you need an Atmos sourced media (generally digital file or Blu-ray type disc), a compatible Atmos player (iPhone, AppleTV, Blu-ray player), a compatible Atmos decoder that pushes sound (usually a receiver, but could be combined with player like an iPhone or AppleTV), and a compatible output device (speaker system, sound bar, headphones). In the surround sound game, you are only as strong as your weakest link…in order to get Atmos, every step must meet the Atmos standards or else you will likely get surround or stereo mixes instead, which may be fine…just not Atmos. And again the overhead aspect is minor in the totality of the sound for most uses.
I run Atmos through a 7.2.4 downstairs in my media area with a Pioneer receiver (Sony 4k Blu-ray player & AppleTV) and have an upstairs LG sound bar system that uses the latter bounce technique and it’s footprint is a large sound bar (long and skinny) in front of my TV, a subwoofer, plus two back speakers that dole out the side and overhead effects. Also, I use AirPod Pros with iTunes to catch digital Atmos stuff on the go. (Yes, I’m an Atmos junkie with both movies and music). I’m sure others know things I may have left out, but hopefully this is a adequate explanation to your question.

But it is the same instrumental tracks, or was it rerecorded?
