So "The Earthlings" is not an Eddie centric thing?

After the vaccine a lot of musicians got together and jammed. Started working together. Like Eddie and Elton. They also worked on Morrisey's new album.

Can he only wear the shirt when Eddie Vedder is present?  Missing the point of your post.

Ah. Okey! I initially thought the name was derived from Eddies album title just for fun for that tour/album.

    Thanks for the info.

When they were recording Earthling, Ed had told Andrew about the tapes he was given in Chicago of his dad singing.

He was kind enough to let him hear, and asked Ed if he could make something. The result was a jam session that led to the track 'On My Way', which also ended up being the Earthlings' walk out music.

On My Way, to me, is Ed finally making peace with the time he missed with his father. Basically, a coda to Release.

Not sure if it was Eddie, or Andrew, but one of them said "we should make him an honorary member", and the other one agreed.

I think the artist for the Earthling album should have been listed as Eddie Vedder and The Earthlings. Watt and Klinghoffer wrote most of the music and Ed pretty much just wrote the lyrics with some exceptions. Just my opinion, but I look at this as more of a group album than a solo Ed album, since he didn't write all the songs. So the 'Earthlings' are basically the band but they also wrote more than half the album aside from the lyrics... so I wouldn't say the are Ed centric
