Gang of Youths - Angel in Realtime
Fred Again... - Actual Life 3
    Arkells - Blink Twice
Turnstile - Glow On (I know it's from 2021, but it got big in 2022 and is when I discovered it)

    Songs:
Nathaniel Raetliff - I'm on your side
    The Killers - Boy
    Fred Again - Danielle
    Metric - All Comes Crashing
    Glorious Sons - Hold Steady

    Concerts:
Coachella - 1st time going and the surprise Arcade Fire set, Fred Again and then Turnstile all made it worth the trip
The Killers - so many good songs
Glorious sons - tiny club in London the night before Pearl jam’s two shows. Special to see a band like that with max 100 people

I couldn't come up with a Top 10 this year, I almost had to fill it with Neil Young's bootleg releases.
I somehow haven't heard the new Painted Shield, Ben Harper, Black Keys, Wilco, or Clutch albums yet, and there are a few others on these lists that I should probably check out sometime.

    1. The Afghan Whigs - How Do You Burn?
By far and away my favourite album of the year. It's not even close.

    2. Neil & Crazy Horse - Toast
    3. UNKLE - Rōnin II
    4. RHCP - Unlimited Love
    5. Cat Power - Covers

    6. Neil & Crazy Horse - World Record
    7. Turin Brakes - Wide-Eyed Nowhere
    8. 3rd Secret
    9. Eddie Vedder - Earthling

Earthling would be higher if you got rid of the first minute of Invincible, the hair metal guitar sound on Power of Right and all of P*****e. I was disappointed with Dream Canteen, it's nowehere near as good as UL.

    “Do not postpone happiness”
    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”
    (Tim Rogers)

Have to check out that Whigs record. They had Christopher Thorn of Blind Melon touring live with them.

One of the most interesting albums of the year.

London Odense Ensemble-Jaiyede Sessions Volume 1.  Sick, dark, ethereal jazz.
I'm like an opening band for your mom.

Haven’t seen anyone mention these two:

Slash feat. Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators — 4

The Pretty Reckless — Other Worlds

The Slash album completely dominated most of my listening this year. Caught them at The Beacon Theatre in March — SECOND ROW, right in front of Slash — and the show was OUTSTANDING!!

Also caught The Pretty Reckless last week at Bowery Ballroom, and they put on a helluva concert!

Just looking at Rolling Stone’s best albums of 2022 list. Only knew a handful of albums. Don’t listen to a lot of ‘new’ music, however I thought I’d know more than that. Think I’ll stick the recommendations in this thread.

Porcupine Tree - Closure/Continuation sticks out from what I've listened to. Exceeded most of its heavy expectations. Brilliant.

Guys, it’s worth noting, we don’t need to still live in the 90s or 90s adjacent. A lot of current music is fun and exciting.

Thanks for the reminder, I completely forgot to listen to this record. Maybe I’ll pick up the wax on a Boxing Day sale.

My favourite 3 this year have been
    Wet Leg- s/t
    fontaines dc- skinty fia
kathryn Joseph- for you who are the wronged

honourable mention to the first side of the new metric album, the second half looses me a bit.
