MSG curfew?

Earlier today I managed to get a ticket for MSG. I live in DC and will take the train up in the morning and then head back sometime after the show. My options for a train back home are to depart Penn station at 11:05pm or 3:20am - unfortunately there isn’t anything in between.

Any guesses as to when the show will end tomorrow? While I would normally never leave a show early and would take the 3:20am train, I have an extremely busy and important day of work in the office on Monday. If there is an 11pm curfew or the show is likely to end around then, in this situation I might be willing to skip the last song or two to leave and head downstairs around 10:50pm so that I make the 11:05 and get at least three or four hours of sleep in my bed before work on Monday. But if there is no curfew or the show won’t end until well after 11pm, I will just suck it up and take the 3:20am (doesn’t get into DC until 7am) and hope I have enough adrenaline to make it through the day without completely failing at my job.

Any idea as to when they are likely to walk off the stage?

None of the shows on this leg have ended before 11 PM. The two I went to so far ended at around 11:30. You won’t make that train.
  • To get down to the train from the arena will take a minimum of 10 mins. You will miss the end of the show if you want yo make the earlier train.

No idea how long they'll play, my guess is until at least 11:15 based on previous shows, possibly longer, but these shows are shorter.

They’re shorter because they start later. Not because they end sooner.

Drive to NJ and pick up the train in NJ in either Trenton ?(Hamilton or Princeton Junction. )

The schedule I saw has trains leaving:
    11:14 P. M.
    12:14 A. M.
    1:22  A. M.

Penn Station to Princeton Junction:  https://www.njtransit.com/train-to?origin=Penn Station New York&destination=Princeton Junction Station&date=09/11/2022

They've played til 11.30 many times at msg. Ed seems to have a good rapport with the union folks there. They easily blow past the venue curfew.

That train schedule is better than most.

I’ve been to every MSG show and taken the train a bunch of times.  We would always just miss the train that departs as the show ends and end up waiting another hour plus for the next train.  And then have an hour and a half train ride and another 15 minutes driving from the train station to home.  That’s why we drive now.  We can be home in an hour by car once we hit the tunnel.

  • OP, that 11:05 and then next 3:25 has been that way since I went in the city for shows 25 years ago. You won’t make that 11:05 if you stay the whole show. PJ will play until 11:15-1130.
  • Yeah you’ll never make it.  Happy to take your ticket to simplify your Sunday.  Just the kind of guy I am.
