Oh yea they’ll be charged. Probably looking at a few hundred. Ground vs express makes a difference. They’ll be charged regular sales tax which i think is 13% could be wrong then all of the fedex fees.

Best thing is to tell them to self clear if they’re anywhere near a CBSA office.

yup, 13% HST which is Ontario's sales tax.......brutal.  Plus whatever FedEx charges for their brokerage fee.

There aren’t any additional FedEx fees that were passed onto the buyer with shipping thank goodness. Only thing left to sort is this particular bit. Thanks for sharing! I appreciate you!

Yes they will be charged, I believe FedEx will give an option of paying 13% prior to delivery,  it will be 13% of the total after converted to canadian dollars,  so if it's $2500 CDN,  you're looking at about $325, I hope helps.

You also have to watch out for Fedex, they’re known to be “sneaky” they’ll drop off your package without asking for money and then a month later you’ll get a bill in the mail.
Like i previously mentioned, self clearing is the best option.

If you send it USPS it is quite likely there will be no charges to your buyer at all. Canada Post rarely charges customs or the ridiculous fees of FedEx or UPS.

I’ve had a box of records declared at $1500 US which I had to sign for and walked out of the post office without paying a dime.
