Be happy the band is still alive and still playing together. It could be worse, we could go back to having no live music.

Definitely.  The band is about 10 to 15 years older than me. If i live a life, it means I'll out live the band.  I'll be an old man living in assisted living wishing I could go to a PJ show.

People ask why I've seen them so many times, it's because one day I won't be able too.

I enjoy it every time :)

I once was a teen. Seeing PJ live, the band that saved my life more times that I can count, was an impossible dream. Then it happened in San Sebastian and it was everything and more, sealed friendships, changed perspective, life changing. And it happened again in Montreal, and it happened again and again, hell, they played my favorite album back to back in Greenville, I, fucking saw that. 11 times and counting and I'm blessed. If you saw them at least once, then you are too. They are sill alive, healthy and touring, and still, many fans will never have the occasion to see them. Say what now, seeing your favorite band live is painfully boring?

I'm just happy they are playing Corduroy normal now and not Eddie doing that awful sing along thing they did the last few tours.
    That is still happening

Set list tonight is encouraging.  Lot of stuff on there I would love to hear.  But is it greedy to ask for 4-5 more songs/20-30 min more?  Maybe someday we get back there?
I've seen quite a few Pearl Jam shows.

The set list have been so predictable with the same songs almost every night.

No way I would want to travel to hear the same 10 songs or so every show.

Nowadays mathematically that’s almost 50% of the show.

Im okay with not hearing 35 songs a night but Jesus it least mix up your setlist.

    Xoxo
Then don't go. Somebody else would be beyond happy to have your ticket.

I don’t mind shorter shows but I agree that the setlists have been pretty bland and uninspiring. Personally, I think the setlists have been trending downward since as far back as 2013. But I think Ed definitely cared about the setlists back then, even if I wasn’t all that into them. Now, I’m not so sure he even really cares.

Why do some particular Pearl Jam fans feel so entitled all the time? This band owes us nothing. They started it on their own. Created their own style and paved the way for many other artists. They write music for themselves because that is what they have always wanted to do. They don’t need awards; they don’t need accolades. They do it for the love of the music. If they didn’t care, they would have retired and hung it up by now. Heck, none of them need the money. They do it for the love of the music. I have been lucky to see some very cool shows, and each one was a fantastic experience full of outstanding fans! But…

If you expect Pearl Jam to cater to your needs, this band is not for you.

If you are expecting to receive every single release on every single colored vinyl, this band is not for you.

If you expect to get every piece of merch this band creates, this band is not for you.

If you expect GA tickets for every show, this band is not for you.

If you are expecting to hear every single hit, every single show, this band is not for you.

If you are unhappy because you don’t get on the rail every show, this band is not for you.

If you are expecting any of the above, this band never was for you.

If you are not happy, start your own band, write your own hit songs and go out and make a living doing it away from your family and home, grind out the road living on nothing until you make it. Write your own set lists that have varied so much they have been scientifically evaluated and cherished. Only then, after you have endured what this band has been through, can you criticize what they do for their business and livelihood.

This band has given us so many fantastic live shows, from full album sets to rarities that boggle the mind. They have earned everything they deserve by what they have created. They have given us so much, and a little appreciation for what they give us is well deserved.

I don’t understand it. First, the songs are too fast, so they fit more songs in and make a longer setlist. 😩 But they are too fast to enjoy them. 😩 Then the songs are at the right tempo, but the set lists are not long enough or too short. 😩 But they are playing festivals, so the setlist will suck 😩. But they are playing for three nights it’s not going to be good 😩. Make your own setlist and sit and listen at home then if you are not happy with this band. If you were a true fan, you would appreciate everything this band has given.

Be happy and grateful that this band is still out touring, playing live music and giving it all they can on a live stage for the fans. Be glad this band is still alive and wants to make music regardless of how anyone feels about it. Be happy they are still together and on speaking terms and can work out their songwriting issues diplomatically. Many bands are not so lucky and don’t speak to each other anymore. Enjoy that they are still around because one day, unfortunately, they may not be. Thank you, PJ 🙏
