I really enjoyed that first listen. Fear and Fridays (song and poem) are fantastic. Love his ability to make so much of his material anthemic. Jake’s Piano - incredible. I Remember Everything is my sleeper hit, I will be revisiting it often. Appreciate the brief guitar solo in Tourniquet. I think Tradesman was the best written, hits me the hardest.
BUT
Only flaw is some of it felt formulaic, like borrowing from his own songs that have already been released. It just wasn’t different enough for me to be blown away first time around - some of the impact of ‘new’ got lost. Like Hey Driver felt the same as Dawns in many ways. Terrible critic because I don’t know how to fully describe it, more of a feeling.
One thing is still certain, I don’t get tired of his voice.

Yeah, prices were unreal. I got a club level but not club seat for $90ish plus fees. May ultimately sell the pair, but I was not spending $500 for a pair of lower bowl seats to hear him play songs that will not translate well to a stadium show. Honestly, the only thing that might make me keep my tix is to get to finally see Turnpike.
I cant express how much I hate Ticketmaster. I saw Zach twice this year in Worchester and Long Island. Paid about $100 per ticket on the floor each show. AXS was sooo much better and prices reasonable. I knew this would happen with most shows now Ticketmaster. Foxborough goes on sale at noon and I am not paying crazy prices so probably will miss out.

The artist holds responsibility here too. He went out of his way with the previous tour to control ticket prices and transferability. He did not this time. That is not all up to ticketmaster, that's up to the artist. He had floor tix at 330+ fees. He had platinum tickets for sale. They ARE transferrable.
If you want to control things for fans, you set prices (see PJ and The Cure), you try to minimize fees (hard, that's mostly TM), you make them non transferrable and set up a Fan to Fan exchange, and you do not opt in to platinum pricing. It's been done, but not enough and TM takes the blame. Childers just set up Fan to Fan and non transferrable as well.
Saw Zach on the last night of the Burn Burn Burn tour in KC. What a great show! Got the autographed poster. Due to the prices doubling for the tour next year I decided to pass for now, as much as I'd like to see him again. Oh well.
Fantastic show last night. Assumed he'd bring out The War & Treaty (who are amazing by the way) and The Lumineers since they were also playing the festival but the Noah Kahan surprise was awesome.
That show looked great with all the recent collaborators being there.
Loving the new EP. Deep satin is a favorite and glad to finally have a real version of it. Nine ball is my second fav at the moment. The amount of material he churns out is seriously impressive. He’s released like 70-80 songs since Pearl Jam’s last album lol. That’s like the last 15-20 years for them 😜

I think the difference with him is he just releases almost everything he records instead of hiding them in the vault like most bands
Another banger album. 2-3 times into it. Need more time but lots of great music here. I have to think with the amount of music this guy has released in the last 2 years he is just going to disappear soon. He has put out an entire careers worth of amazing music in under 2 years.

Listening now. When does he sleep? Insane.
