Ed on Stage 7:15pm

1. Arc
2. Sometimes

Intro Music Metamorphosis-Phillip Glass: 8:30pm

Band on stage:  8:33pm
Band off Stage: 11:35pm

1.  Release

(The crowd in anticipation is loud with an especially impassioned performance by Ed.)
2.
Long Road
3.
Go

(The band rips through a blistering version of Go.)
4.  Brain of J
5.  Severed Hand
(Ed recounts a story when he took some mushrooms a long time ago, where he journeyed through space and time and could see the music he was listening to in visual waves.)
6.  Corduroy
(Ed tells the story of 2003 msg show when the crowd shook the stage during DTE. He challenges the crowd to do the same on this next one. Original version with no jam.)
7.  Hail Hail
8.  Insignificance
(Ed quickly acknowledges the anniversary of this sad day and reiterates the impact of war.)
9.  Quick Escape
(Ed quickly mentions how fucked up the system is, and how certain groups are controlling and ruining the world. "The next song is a daydream on leaving the planet.")
10. Lightning Bolt
11. 1/2 Full
(Band in full form. Jeff and stone are vibing together with Mike destroying the Garden crowd with a visceral solo.)
12. Alright
13. Man of the Hour
(Ed says this song was played as a request.)
14. Faithful
15. Immortality
(The band is on fire. The interlude is long and beautiful and explodes into Mike's solo as the Garden crowd erupts.)
16. In hiding
(Huge loud sing along with the crowd.)
17. Garden
(Garden is beautiful and the crowd participation is overwhelming.)
18. Nothingman
(Crowd is nearly drowning out Ed on this song.)
19. In My Tree
20. Sad
21. RVM
(A particularly heavy and fast RVM, with an ending that leaves the Garden crowd in awe.)

Encore Break 1

22. Superblood Wolfmoon
23. MYM
24. Lukin
(The band tears through Lukin which goes right into...)
25. Not for You
26. I got shit
27. Of the Earth
(Another request by those crazy people on the forums.)
28. Breath
(A reimagining of the original Breath campaign that took place on 9/11/98. Thousands of sheets of copy paper, with the word BREATH written in all caps, permeate through madison square garden. Ed acknowledges the statement by saying, "I give, we give, and give, and you just want more. Well fuck you! We're gonna play it!!"  A raucous rendition of Breath follows.)
29. Present Tense
(Ed lets the crowd sing the entire second verse.)
30. Porch

Encore Break 2

31. Alone
32. Undone
33. Hard to Imagine
34. Black
(The loudest the crowd has been tonight. Ed seems genuinely upset. Mike melts everyone's face with a mind bending solo.)
35. Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns
(Ed thanks the crowd. He thanks Stone and Jeff for meeting so long ago and counts his blessings. He mentions Andy Wood and how he wishes he could see this and dedicates the song to him.)

Encore break 3

36. Footsteps
37. Indifference

(The Band bows, exhausted. Stone, Jeff, Mike, Matt, Ed, Josh and Boom all in arms. The crowd to, is exhausted. The band leaves the stage possibly playing the greatest show they have ever played.)

I'd have to make some scratches/substitutions too, but you probably included 15-17 of my Very Top Picks for a setlist.

I tried to make it palatable for an average fan as well as catering to the hardcore.

Also tried to hit every album, some bsides, some super rarities while using eddies general format for a setlist.

This is just the first draft! Maybe some edits in the future.

Since the show is on 9/11, I think it would be 1st to go onto Ed's list.

    * I heard it the 1st time played, Bridge 2001, the month after 9/11. At that point I wouldn't have gotten on a plane for anything other than PJ.

Is it? Rome 2018 was 36 songs. Of the 60ish shows ive seen, it was one of the best.

Im not completely convinced we will never see a long set again. Playing live is like playing a sport. You have to build up your endurance for the long haul. They can go from 22, to 25, to 27, to 30 and more.

    I believe.

Love the first song but would be totally epic to start with Long Road into Release. One of my two all time favorites. Never experienced it live… i think 9/11 would be perfect

I really think long road will open. I couldn’t think of a more fitting song for the occasion.
