look hun, it's my initials... backwards. :D

i'm joking. she's not pissed. i was supposed to be saving for the trip to scotland though. good thing i got a raise last week.

this is literally a custom-ordered SG. it's not supposed to be available in that colour left-handed.
  • It is a beautiful guitar. Hell, it's rare, it's beautiful, hard to get. You have to snag something like that when you can!

Scotland's been around for about 62 million years! Another few weeks shouldn't make much difference!

You can tell her I said that if you want. :D

I still love my 68 sg. Great guitar.
SG's and Strats are good "sitting on the couch guitars", too. The cord jacks don't get in the way.

wow that is really a good looking guitar.

    congrats on winning the bid
I know someday you will have a beautiful Life

  • I don't know if you remember that I had the '57 and '58 Les Pauls that I sold last spring. They were collectors items, and very cool,,, but in reality, my SG plays better than either of those did. I put Seymour Duncans in it a while back and made it even sound better than the Pauls.

    You'll love your SG!

    Scotland's cool, too!

That's a beauty! What's the point in Christmas other than buying yourself expensive guitars? A big package arrived the other day and it turned out paw had gone and bought himself a Fender Jaguar without telling anyone.

There you go dear, your gift to me is sorted. Now I'll head down the local newsagent and get you a recipe book like usual...more guitars in the house means more for me to play though! :)

Thats awesome Ex....nice guitar. Maybe you can lend me some cash towards my new amp...hahaha. If I can make one suggestion though, If you are going to play this one alot I would suggest changing out the tuning peg on there for a set of grovers....I just find that all gibsons plastic pegs never keep the guitar in tune.

    Enjoy your early Christmas present!

if it doesn't involve new drilling, i'll do it more than likely. otherwise it'll have to stay stock.
  • Nice purchase...

    What pickups are in that?
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
  • exhaustedexhausted Posts: 6,638
a 490R and 498T. same as my les paul.
  • Nice... should provide a fair amount of bite.

Although... hehehe... a set of zebra-coil Burstbuckers would look pretty sweet...

wow! tobacco sunburst, left handed, you kind of have to buy it..... I hope you like it.

960 was a bargain anyway for that thing.

and I thought it was cool I bought a new reverb......thanks once again for out pissing me Greg..... :)
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

    You get the DigiTech?

    You get the DigiTech?

indeed I did. 50 bucks brand new, but my buddy tacked on a 2 year no questions warranty to the tune of 20 bucks. Normally I'd be against it, but he's giving it to me at cost and he's got to eat too.

74 bucks brand new all total for a sweet little reverb pedal? cool. I like it better than the Little Lanilei, frankly because I can hear this one, it's a little too much but too much is better than too little. For what it is and what it costs it's really very nice.

I also spent an hour in my local super high end Savage/Dr.Z/Roccaforte/ Two Rock.... etc dealer. He wanted 650 for a silverface reverb unit but only 395 for a retubed (Tesla) 65 Bassman head so maybe that's on the radar. My heart still lies with an original blackface super reverb.

I'm seriously considering trading the AD 15 for a Savage Rohr or a DR Z Mazerati.

Then I went to Guitar Center obviously and played a new sunburst American Deluxe into a Rivera Rake head a JCM 800 and a Vibrolux. I've decided, all things considered, I adore the S-1 switching and the American Deluxe in particular so that's still the one. It was an excellent use of a day off.

On the wall they had a middle 60's single P-90 Epiphone Casino for $999 I'm not sure of what the price should have been but damn that was one fine guitar.

I almost added a 2000 Super Hard On to my collection but they had $140 in it and you can get them new for almost that much. I think the barber is probably better anyway. 140 bucks for a simple one knob boost seems a little overkill.

SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

I finally had a chance to plug in an American Deluxe, with the cobalt pups and the S-1 switching. I absolutely love the tone of the pups in the normal mode, very true to the Strat heritage. But the S-1 does give so many more options... Very, very nice.

Glad you like the DigiVerb... it can be an overwhelming effedt to begin with, but after a while of fiddling with the knobs, you should find something usable. I found the spring reverb mode to be the least obtrusive, although mine is now set for a small Hall verb.

The small hall is probably my favorite, if only because it's more natural than the "10 thousand slinkies in a steel cavern" spring reverb. There are so many reverbs in that thing it's not hard to find something really useable.

but I digress, have you ever seen a more beautiful left handed SG?

I did happen to see a lefty LP SG in Pelham Blue at this little hole in the wall of heaven store last weekend. It was quite nice, but I'm still a sucker for sunburst. If I got an SG I'd like it to be in Pelham Blue.

    Maybe Hell DOES have instruments!

When Exhausted and Puremagic walk in, They’re issued right handed guitars
When us rightys pull in, well get all left handed axes!

We’ll also each be issued the ultimate amp we always wanted after all those years,,,,, but in Hell, we don't get any cords!!

well, it shipped out today but i doubt i'll get it this week. i'm sad to see some of these pedals i worked so hard to collect going out the door though. but they really were just sitting on the shelf since the pods moved in.

I felt the same way when I sold off my odd pedals this summer to buy my Tele Deluxe. Weren't getting used, probably should go to a new home, but still hard to see them go...

    i kept:
    volume
    double muff
    modded small stone
    modded phase 90
    keeley BD-2
    DL4
    aphex acoustic xciter.

those are my main effects. i still have my vox wah, DOD analog delay, boss DS-1 and my homemade stuff because i modded them too much to want to sell. my pharaoh class A boost is too hurting to sell in good conscience.

i'll probably put my behringer rack compressor up pretty soon too though i'm reluctant because i *would definitely* use it if i ever player live again. but the chances of that happening are so slim.
